A shining gem for your loved one
reviewed on: 10/18/2018 by Glen Mills GGDad has been a resident for about four months. The staff was very helpful in getting Dad acclimated. Before actually moving in, we took him there for meals and activities. Everyone is very warm and caring. I really believe everyone loves their job at Arbor Terrace. The place is not too big and not too small. It's impressive that no matter what the title of the employer, they know Dad's name and greet him very cheerfully. The nursing staff are great, and the RN's are on top of Dad's medical needs and records. It is very convenient to have Fox Rehab on site. The Arbor Terrace bus takes the residents on countryside rides and bus tours of local interests. This place is a little "chunk of heaven" for your loved one. The grounds are beautiful, the halls are cheery, and very clean.
You Can't Judge A Book by Its Cover....
reviewed on: 07/05/2016 by Anonymous ObviouslySolana looks like a Marriott hotel inside and it is supposed to give you the impression that everything there is first class, but it's really NOT! As a former nurse and employee in an assisted living/nursing home environment, they appear to be short-staffed here - especially on the weekends. This is evident when there was a fire drill and no one prepared our mother in advance or made sure she was out of her room - made us all wonder, did they even realize she was there? They certainly should have. Every Resident there should be accounted for in such an occurrence. We also have issues with the food and the dining room staff in particular - they are primarily 'kids' who do not know the meaning of the word professional and are poorly trained in customer service and a can-do attitude. Solana Management should address the need for appropriate training of the Food Service staff immediately. Food and the overall dining experience is a very important part of Residents' daily lives. As for the food itself, its covered in sauces or gravy and there is a real lack of healthy options - the vegetables are overcooked to mushiness and no real salad options for a salad lover like our Mom. Fried food is a not a favorite of the Residents either - occasionally but not regularly. We will be revisiting on a regular basis during mealtimes to monitor the level of service in the dining room as well as the quality of the food. This is not a cheap place to have our parent and we expect much better than what we have seen so far.
My Parents Are In A Wonderful Place
reviewed on: 02/22/2017 by AnonymousMy parents have been getting the care they need in this community. I appreciate the staff, they are good quality people who are doing a wonderful job for my parents. They can be challenging at times and they are getting use to it. I like the layout of the community, it is open and cozy with lots of light. My parents enjoy the meals 70% of the time, no specifics but they have their good days. My mom liked how she got her hair done from the onsite hair salon.
The Solana is doing a good job.
reviewed on: 01/08/2015 by AnonymousThe Solana is doing a good job. It's clean, and they have had some changes in management so we are hoping somethings will improve. We aren't too keen on the physical therapy, or the dining. They had a lot of fried options, and not very many healthy selections. They would have one special option for the meal, and the stuff they always offer, and that's it. When they offer chicken it's always chicken breast, never legs or thighs. They just hired a new chef at the beginning of the year, so maybe the menu will get better. It's also a little more crowded than it used to be, perhaps they need to have a few more caregivers.
We could not of had a better experience
reviewed on: 04/09/2021 by Stacey HDue to the covid restrictions the activities were very limited, and the value was right on par with everyone else. The facility is beautiful, they have back porches with first bits and the building itself is a like a high class hotel. His room was lovely with big windows. They were extremely accommodating with outdoor visits during the pandemic. When it was time for hospice they let us come and see him and completely covered us with PPE, fresh gowns, fresh masks and fresh gloves.
