Community Reviews

Nice place, but not for my Mom

reviewed on: 07/10/2019 by Anonymous

The facilities are great and the staff is very nice. They recently built a central kitchen to prepare meals, and my Mom gives it mixed reviews. Mostly she is disappointed that all but two cottages are memory care so she doesn't have many people to socialize with. Also, the activities often don't occur or have sparse attendance.

Review for Hacienda del Rey

The care given is phenomenal. The front office is not good about returning phone calls or making arrangements for other services. Dropped the ball repeatedly and had to follow up several times before what I needed to be done was done. I feel like once they have you in there then that is all that they need do. A follow up call after placement would have been greatly appreciated as I was unsure about who did what and a simple follow up call within a week, then another two weeks maybe and then a month later is advisable. getting an answer to these questions was awkward and not timely.

Intimate, Caring Community

The caregivers are very good and they really do care about the residents. They do not have a big staff turnover which is really helpful. It allows the residents and staff to form a relationship, which I really like. They have good communication. Before COVID, they had monthly family meetings at the community, but now they send texts and emails to keep families updated. I chose the community because of the small cottage setting. There are ten residents in each cottage which allows for more personalized care.

Look into this place, beautiful facility

I am very happy with Hacienda Del Rey. We chose this facility because of the cleanliness, it is only a 2 years old. Everything is very modern and up to date and it does not smell at all. They have different sections as well and then a main area where residents can meet, I like the way it is set up. The rooms sizes here are a little on the smaller side for the price. The administrative staff is great, they are good with communication whether it is emails or phone calls and they also have a lot of patience. My dad said during the week when the regular chef is cooking the food is great, but during the weekend they change chefs and it is not as good. I would recommend them to others looking.

Good

My sister's stay here was overall a good experience. She really likes to take her walks though and unfortunately she was not able to walk the grounds at this facility. The staff is very personable and so are the residents in the community. The only thing that stuck out to me though was that I wish they separated the residents by their levels of care more so that my sister could participate in more things and did not feel excluded at times.
