A very viable place for somebody that is older and needs assistance in a living environment.
reviewed on: 04/27/2021 by anonymousIt's excellent here. The staff are very concerned, very amicable, and very easy to deal with. Communication here definitely has a lack, and they don't seem to communicate well with each other. If you tell one that you need something and it's not their responsibility, it doesn't seem to get done until you find the right person. The food is very well done here. It's very tasty. The only complaint I have is they don't serve any kind of condiments - salt, pepper, mustard, ketchup, etc. You do have to ask for those. They keep the place very clean. It's an older building, and you hear a lot of wind noise whistling in the windows. But Arizona is a bad place for windows with the heat. My apartment is pretty nice, very comfortable. Because the facility is much older, it's a little worn. Bu they do a good job of trying to keep things fixed and up-to-date.

When we walked into the dining room, it was very dark and kind of dirty. From the little bit we saw, it would not have been a good fit for my mother.
Best Fit for Situation

The food was very good; in fact go enough that I bought a meal ticket to go back. The community itself is really nice and well maintain but the surrounding area is a little rough, really doesn’t affect the community because it’s separated. The one thing that could be improved is the welcoming process; it could have more structure and formality to it. They could have set up some appointment so that we meet the ambassador and other staff. They do have the option but you have to actively seek it. With everything said and done we chose this community because it was the right fit for our situation.
A wonderful blessing for mom
reviewed on: 09/17/2015 by CarolynMy mother has been at this facility in an independent apartment for a few weeks. As far as I can tell, the facility is always clean and well kept. Residents and staff typically are very nice. My mother's gets two meals per day, which are so much healthier than what she could make for herself. She is getting involved in more activities and just loving everything about it! I couldn't be happier!
We would recommend The Citadel!!!
