mom feels at home
reviewed on: 12/27/2014 by AnonymousI feel like they accommodated me very well in getting my mom to feel at home there. One thing where they might could improve would be to have a little better communication between the departments. Overall it has been a very positive experience and I would highly recommend Amethyst Arbors.
good food & fast response

Great care and activities, but communication on the business end leaves a little to be desired
reviewed on: 08/22/2013 by Loved one at AmethystI would say that the communication is challenged by the application of formulaic procedures or practices as opposed to individuale needs and practicality. They are attempting to make it more accomodating, she is getting what she needs, her care givers give ehr the care that she needs, its things like the fee structures that are imposed that are formulaic as opposed to practical. They've been willing to provide her the support she needs physically and let her do what she can on her own. She has two kinds of exercises that she absolutely enjoys and other "keeping them moving" kinds of things. I'm generally quite pleased with the facility and the level of opportunity there is to do things. On a little less positive note, being able to get answers from the person that can help is a little bit harder than I feel it should be. It would be nice if they could help the families and have a little Q&A session for us or a family members forum because most of us are handling this for the first time. For cleanliness, I think it has more to do with the grounds, I don't think the dining room's unclean, but they could spruce it up a little.
Thrilled with the Amethyst Arbor!
reviewed on: 12/20/2019 by Donna MontanarellaWe are so grateful that we chose the Amethyst Arbor as my mom's new home. Eric provided multiple tours to assure that our family members were all comfortable and all of our questions were answered. He was very kind and patient. Everyone involved with my mom's move in were wonderful. Unfortunately, my dad was hospitalized and diagnosed with metastatic cancer on the scheduled move in day. He died 2 1/2 wks later. All of the staff was very compassionate and attentive to my mom while my dad was dying and after. Our whole family got to spend time at the Amethyst and were all so impressed with how lovely our mom's apartment is and how beautiful the common areas are and how wonderful the staff is. Everything is bright and cheerful and homey! The grounds are so beautiful with flowering bushes and grass. The whole place is immaculate and never has bad odors. There are so many helpful services. It has been such a huge assistance and relief to our family. My mother is kept safe. The dining room is lovely and the meals are very good. The service is excellent. The residents seem happy and well cared for. I hear all of the staff calling the residents by their names. My mother receives continuous competent and loving care. She feels very safe and we have confidence in the very efficient staff. Everybody is so helpful and loving. I am a nurse and have very high standards. I am totally impressed with everything! Every medical professional I have spoken to who knows the Amethyst has nothing but positive feedback. Most of all, my mom is happy with her new home!
Desert Landscaping
reviewed on: 08/04/2017 by AnonymousI really wanted mom to move here but she didn't care for the desert landscaping. We really liked this property the staff was wonderful and it is beautiful inside. I especially liked the fact that they offered a therapy pool. It was a much larger community than others that we had looked at and that might have given mom a sense of uneasiness where she needs assistance walking and her visual impairment. The community at the time had offered quite a few options to help out financially which would have been helpful.
