Community Reviews
I am continually amazed!
reviewed on: 11/15/2016 by AnonymousThis community has been a great place for mom. The entire staff are motivated, kind, friendly and have gone out of their way to be helpful. They are involved with the residents and get to know their likes and needs. She is encouraged to participate in the daily activities and she has made new friends. They keep the community clean. The staff always have a smile on their face and I would recommend this community.
Amethyst Gardens Memory Care - Five weeks in
reviewed on: 03/23/2015 by Dave_in_PhoenixIt's still a little early in the process and it's my first time having to place a relative in memory care. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, but sometimes it is hard to contact the right person for your concern, or have that person return your phone call. They said I would be contacted regularly with updates throughout the first few weeks but I only received one unsolicited call. I work full time, so it is hard to know what is really going on. The facility is not new, but it seems to be clean and fairly well-maintained. Everyone tells me it takes months for a person to make this adjustment, so I hope all goes well.
My mother is as happy as she can be
reviewed on: 05/28/2015 by AnonymousI never thought my mother would be as happy as she is now. My mother is as happy as she can be. She loves the food. She just loves everything about it. My overall rating of this property is 5 stars. It has been a great experience. I would highly recommend the Amethyst Arbors to anyone looking for a nice place to put their loved ones at. It's very clean and well kept. The staff is very nice and helpful.
Great care and activities, but communication on the business end leaves a little to be desired
reviewed on: 08/22/2013 by Loved one at AmethystI would say that the communication is challenged by the application of formulaic procedures or practices as opposed to individuale needs and practicality. They are attempting to make it more accomodating, she is getting what she needs, her care givers give ehr the care that she needs, its things like the fee structures that are imposed that are formulaic as opposed to practical. They've been willing to provide her the support she needs physically and let her do what she can on her own. She has two kinds of exercises that she absolutely enjoys and other "keeping them moving" kinds of things. I'm generally quite pleased with the facility and the level of opportunity there is to do things. On a little less positive note, being able to get answers from the person that can help is a little bit harder than I feel it should be. It would be nice if they could help the families and have a little Q&A session for us or a family members forum because most of us are handling this for the first time. For cleanliness, I think it has more to do with the grounds, I don't think the dining room's unclean, but they could spruce it up a little.
