reviewed on: 09/21/2013 by Sandy Penner for Josephine StoltzFrom the first day we visited the facility we felt it was warm, inviting, very friendly, both residents and staff. After visiting several others mom decided this was the place for her. She needed to sell her townhome in Colo so we went on the waiting list for a unit. One on the ground floor facing a courtyard became available within 6 weeks so we put down a deposit. She moved in 2 weeks ago and is very happy. The facility is friendly, helpful, clean, food is great. Though we were rather surprised to have to pay $47 for a second set of keys which seems rather steep and should have been communicated when we ordered them as we weren't told there would be a cost. We needed some closing documents notorized for the sale of mom's townhome and they sent a staff member to her unit to help us out. She even made copies for us. She hasn't had a chance to use many of the amenities yet as she is having trouble with her knee, but looks forward to the exercise classes and other activities offered.
good value
reviewed on: 11/25/2014 by AnonymousCompared to other places we have evaluated, the value at The Fountains at La Cholla is very good. The only complaint that my mom has expressed is that when they go down for Sunday brunch, the line is so long. She is diabetic and by the time she sits down she is feeling the insulin reaction. They are really on top of taking good care of mom though. For example, she recently had a fall and they were right there to help her and to care for her afterwards.
Gold Standard!
reviewed on: 05/11/2016 by AnonymousI would recommend The Fountains to my family and friends as I was ready to move in myself. This was the first community we looked at and it definitely set the bar high for other communities. My mom is still getting settled but she already loves the community. I have had the opportunity to enjoy some meals with her and I would have to say the food is good as well as we received good service from the entire dining room personnel. My mom is looking forward to attending the exercise program when she recovers from a minor surgery. Her room is on the third floor so she feels comfortable with opening her windows, she also has a good view of the grounds. The entire staff is very friendly.
A happy Mom
reviewed on: 07/28/2016 by AnonymousThis community is in a great location, it is convenient to everything. Cleaning and food are optional charges. The meals need improvement. It is always covered in gravy and not many options. The change was not a good one. The facility is clean and my mom gets her roomed cleaned every other week. If you ask you can get a yearly deep cleaning. My mom likes the exercise activities the most, she likes the variety of activities, the change was good for that.
A place to call home.
reviewed on: 03/03/2014 by Desertr0seI had a tour of this facility in February 2014. I was very impressed. This is a place I would be proud to call home. I had the opportunity to speak with a resident who lived there. I actually had a private conversation with her as I ran into her in the restroom. She had lived at other retirement homes in Tuscon and she said that this one was the best one and had the best food as far as selection and flavor. The price is rather high if you need special care but if you are still healthy, it's quite reasonable.
