Assisted living communities offer seniors the security and safety that they need while allowing them to live as independently as possible. Services like housekeeping, meal preparation and maintenance are typically included in the rent at an assisted living community. In 2015 there are nearly 270,000 seniors over the age of 65 B.C., an increase of 30% over the last 10 years. As this demographic continues to grow the need for assisted living communities will be greater than ever before. As of 2013 the average cost for assisted living in B.C. was $2,747 per month.
