A home for our mom at Sunrise of Vancouver
reviewed on: 11/12/2018 by Kathy JSunrise of Vancouver is a very warm and inviting home for our mom. It's bright and lively and totally not what I expected for a senior's facility. The staff is very friendly and attentive and every day there are activities from special guests to games and exercises which are all-inclusive. The residents may choose to whether to participate or there are quiet areas to watch TV, read or visit with their guests. Mom's medical care was also attended to so that was something we also didn't have to worry about. After her hospital stay she was unable to walk and if she were to have continued staying at home we would have needed a special bed, lift and wheelchair as well as extra caregivers to help her in her daily routine. I wish that our mom was able to have stayed here sooner as she truly enjoyed herself and we were relieved to have found a place like Sunrise to help us care for our mom.
They were top notch.
reviewed on: 08/18/2015 by AnonymousThey were top notch. They were more expensive, than some of the others. We chose them based on availability. They had a lot of staff on board all the time, which we really liked.
I love Sunrise. They have been excellent.
reviewed on: 08/17/2015 by AnonymousI love Sunrise. They have been excellent. Mom loves the food, and we ate dinner there and it was very good. It is healthy and low sodium, but it was beautifully presented, and still tastes good. I am very happy with them.
Angels Work Here
reviewed on: 11/10/2018 by Audra ThompsonAfter moms eight month hospitalization and the very sudden death of her husband, the staff at Sunrise could not have been more supportive or helpful in easing her transition to their facility. Mom has lovely caregivers who cannot do enough for her and check in on her multiple times per day sometimes just to say hi and see how she’s doing. She tells me daily that she just loves being there, and she never thought she would ever be happy living anywhere but at home. Her suite is homey and she has many of her special items with her. Mom is thriving and her mobility and strength has improved so much since living there. Mom has always had a very good memory and she has met others living there like herself. She loves doing some of the activities like the brain games and loves the baking program. The best part of all for me, is her being there lets me be her daughter still. I get to take her on outings, visit with her, and support her. There is always lots to do as a family member of a senior struggling with health issues, but knowing mom is happy and so well cared for is remarkable. There are no words to explain the feeling. We are grateful every day. They have helped turn an intolerable situation into a happy ending and we will always be thankful for that.
