Mixed experience
reviewed on: 12/08/2014 by AnonymousWe have had a mixed experience with Meridian Gardens. The facility itself is nice looking, and the aide staff are generally helpful and knowledgeable. However I haven't had much luck communicating with the management staff. It seems like nobody who would be able to answer the sorts of questions or issues I have gets in until around 10:30, and by that point I am no longer available. The food could also use some work, the quality is very hit or miss.
Beautiful Community, My Tour Went Very Well
reviewed on: 07/20/2016 by AnonymousThis a very beautiful community. It was one of my top picks for my brother. My tour went very well. Everybody was very kind and friendly. They invited us back to try their meals. It was a little more expensive for our budget. This is a lovely community. My tour was a pleasant experience.
Tiny Room in a Big Community
reviewed on: 08/29/2017 by AnonymousOn the tour I saw that they were a big facility and they had a very tiny room at the end of the hall that would be available for my dad. He would have to go down the hallways, pass the stairs and go down the elevator. I felt that would be too much for him.
There are a lot of problems, and they are working diligently to fix them.
reviewed on: 05/14/2014 by Family MemberThere are a lot of problems, and they are working diligently to fix them. They don't clean very well. Sometimes when you call on weekends nobody answers, we have had problems getting through. Their LVN quit shortly after we came in, and the medication dispensers weren't watching her take her medication, so she wasn't taking it. There are two caretakers for 18 people. They are understaffed. Corporate has all these equations for how many people are there and how many workers they can have. It works for the corporation, but not for the residents. For the price I would recommend it, it's a good value. I like the people there I think they are just mismanaged, and misguided. If they could just reign in the troops they would have a good thing here. The food is not very good, for a while they didn't even have salt and pepper shakers.
Exceeded our expections
reviewed on: 02/07/2019 by DonWe were extremely stressed and apprehensive in selecting a facility for my Father In Law. After a brief discussion with "A Place for Mom", they provided us with a selection of various assisted living facilities in our area. We visited 4 of the 5, then visited 3 others that we had been referred to by our friends. We felt Arbor Palms was more accommodating than the others, most of which were more expensive. We then took our FIL to see the top 3 we visited. Then after the visits, we had a family meeting to select the most desirable facility. It was unanimous we all liked Arbor Palms. Now six weeks later, we are extremely pleased with our choice. The facility is extremely clean, food is very good, and there are many activities for the residents. The staff seems to be endless on their patience and extremely well trained and professional. Ironically 4 months prior to our need I participated in a focus group survey, as it turned out it was a research effort being sponsored by A Place For Mom. I was less than supportive of their mission and concept. Boy was I wrong! They too have been nothing less than phenomenal, when WE actually were confronted with our families need. I wouldn't want to imagine what this situation could have been!!! Thank You So Much.
