Review of Grossmont Gardens - La Mesa, CA
reviewed on: 03/12/2016 by AnonymousWe liked the open feeling of this facility. The grounds were beautifully maintained and the idea of opening your door from your room to see the outside is very appealing. The rooms were decent size. The staff was very friendly. Other occupants were willing to talk to us.
Great Choice for concerned Loved ones
reviewed on: 03/16/2017 by Michael KesslerI am very pleased to say that our choice of Grossmont Gardens for the care of my brother has been confirmed;-) I have been impressed with all categories provided by GG. Employees are friendly and very caring. In a time where my brothers best interests were at stake, we made a great choice. I do need to get him more involved in activities but over all he is very happy.
Nice Establishment
reviewed on: 09/12/2017 by AnonymousGrossmont Gardens is a nice older establishment. It was clean and well-kept. The staff was friendly and gave a nice tour of the facility. We chose another community that was a better fit for our loved one's needs.
Sad but True
reviewed on: 02/09/2019 by Brad PhillipsYes our mother was there 4 years until while being pushed in a wheel chair in her room put her feet down and went head first to the floor out of the wheel chair. I couldn't believe the care giver could not grab her, how fast can you go in a small room? Any way huge lump on her head, next day throwing up, then went into a coma and died 11 days later at a hospice house. Mom had some dementia but was in good health, and was on no medications. perfect blood pressure. Never received any report on the accident. Not even a sympathy card. They raised her monthly fees $250.00 a month every year, so get a long term price at signing, because they will raise it every year. Where ever your loved one is, you must show up and be her advocate!! We are checking into all avenues of recourse so this never happens to anyone else.
Basically going well. She is treated good and staff is nice.
reviewed on: 05/01/2016 by AnonymousMy loved one has been here in assisted living for 3 weeks. So far her care has been good. The staff all seem to know her from as soon as she moved in. She says they treat her well and everyone is very nice. My only critique is that we(three of us who take care of her) were not told about basic procedures regarding nurse procedures and doctor visits, because we have been seeing a few doctors these past weeks. Also, no one came to welcome her as a new resident. I would have thought someone would have been there to make her feel more at ease.
