A Superb Dementia Facility!
reviewed on: 06/23/2015 by CathlyneMy mom has been at Autumn Years for over a year now. They have been unfailingly warm and helpful, to us as well as to her. We took care of Mom for two years and understood that it wouldn't be an easy matter to work with her emotional swings, yet the staff at Autumn Years has been beyond wonderful. There always seems to be some activity going on, yet the staff gently encourages the residents to participate, never pushing. I can sense Mom's comfort with knowing her own routine and feeling cared for. Deirdre Daly, the director, has always taken care of everything with efficiency and kindness. I really can't recommend this facility highly enough.
The best place ever!
reviewed on: 02/20/2014 by Joan HullI have been so impressed with Autumn Years Ojai from day one! The staff is amazing -- very gentle, caring and loving. They never yell, push or fight with the residents. My husband now smiles and laughs ALL the time! I know he is happy and it's because of the wonderful care he is receiving! This is the first place my husband has been in that I have felt comfortable and worry-free! Also, the facility is beautiful and the staff works very hard to keep it that way. There are so many areas that you can take your loved one for visiting and not feel "crowded." The staff is friendly and hospitable to everybody that comes through the door. It's a place I love visiting and I consider the staff part of my "family". I can't recommend Autumn Years enough!
Liked it immediately
reviewed on: 07/26/2013 by GaleAfter A Place for Mom recommended it I went to visit it and I liked it immediately. I was very impressed with the manager. After visiting that was that I knew this was the place. I really like the location. It is out in the country so they have a little more freedom. They are allowed to go in and out of the building and they have a very nice big outdoor area for the residents. I am very pleased with Autumn Years and would recommend them.
A caring place for your loved one!
reviewed on: 08/09/2016 by DonnaI can't say enough wonderful things about the staff at Autumn Years. I have personally looked at several facilities and hands down Autumn Years is the best! The staff is so warm and caring. They treat their residents like people and not a job. I am very impressed with the compassion level and how involved they are in trying to get each individual to experience the best quality of life they are capable of. The building itself is older, but they are slowly remolding the rooms and they keep it clean, which is important to us. I love the freedom the residents have yet they are safe from wandering out the front gate. Our father has only been there a little over a month but is doing better, even doing word searches which he refused to do at home. Now we are making arrangements to have Mom move up there to be with Dad. All we want is for Mom and Dad to have the best quality of life and enjoy each other as long as God gives them. Thanks to Aly and the whole staff at Autumn Years!
