Community Reviews
Positive Experience
reviewed on: 08/28/2017 by AnonymousMom enjoyed herself in the year and a half she was there. She loved the staff here they were friendly and nice. The food was good. The community was always clean and looked nice didn't have any odors or smells. Mom really had the time of her life here. It was such a great experience for her but as time went on and her dementia progressed the level of care exceeded what they could provide for her so we had to move her to another location.
Very Nice But Not Right For My Dad
reviewed on: 10/17/2013 by DaughterWe looked at this one and I thought it was very nice but my dad didn't like it and he has to live there so that's what matters. It was a Merrill Gardens place.

reviewed on: 12/25/2012 by A Place For Mom CustomerWe met with the Director and she was very warm and personable. This was a very different conversation than our previous location visited, as she was much more all about how we are managing and what level of care will be appropriate for mom. They also volunteered to do an in-home evaluation if needed, or invited us to bring mom in for lunch. She had no interuptions during our visit and seemed to have all the time we needed available. They have two type of care, their normal main building with large spacious rooms, and the memory care area with tiny rooms and a shared bathroom down the hall. If the doctor's diagnosis is for dementia, the memory care area is required, however it is currently full. We didn't like the small room and shared bathrooms in the memory care area. If she were allowed in the main building that would be great, however in the main building there is food available all day and that may be a problem with mom eating too much. The memory care area restricts access to food while the main building does not. Maybe with activities and other people available to socialize with, perhaps she wouldn't feel like the only thing she has to do is eat. We're not sure if the doctor considers her dementia to be a formal dianosis that requires that level of care, or more of a gray area, so we need to talk to her doctor as this could be a deciding factor on where she can stay. The facility was somewhat nicer than the other proptery. They have 3 LVNs and indicated aging in place through hospice is common.
Laundry is an Extra Charge
reviewed on: 09/16/2013 by Pam R.My dad has meals and housekeeping. They're very different. I'd give the housekeeping a five and the food I'd probably give a 2. He doesn't participate but there are so many activities available. The one thing that I would suggest to them or to people who are conisdering them is to make sure what someone is telling you is the truth. Don't just believe what one person says because it could be a lie. I was debating between two places and they told me that housekeeping would wash not only his linens but his clothes as well. That was one of the reasons I picked them. I come to find out that is not the case. They only do linens and it would be another $40 a month for them to wash his clothes.
Improvements could be made!!
reviewed on: 08/24/2017 by AnonymousMy mother has recently made the move into this community and she is slowly getting adjusted. The staff could use better consistency in there quality of care that that they have been providing my mother. I have not been that impressed with the caregivers and hope to see some improvement shortly. For the most part my mom is liking the meals and I am hoping to see her get involved in some of the activities they have to offer shortly. Although there are some struggles things are going okay and I would recommend it to anyone.
