Community Reviews
Overall pleased
reviewed on: 12/11/2019 by mommermomThis is a different type of assisted living. It is more of an apartment or older hotel feeling which works very well for our loved one. Other living options available there. They could use more staff but do a good job overall. They are friendly and attentive. The rooms are spacious with a sliding glass door and very small patio which adds to the spacious feel. The bathrooms are a bit smaller and not as modern. A large walk in closet and another spacious closet provide ample storage. The facility is an older building located a few blocks from the Mission Inn in downtown Riverside which makes a nice walk. Located in a residential type neighborhood makes this feel more homey. Parking for visitors can be difficult at times. I have heard some residents complain about the food but seems to be fairly standard and no complaints on our end. The biggest issue is probably the slow elevators! If you are looking for a mid or lower priced facility, this is a good choice. I cannot compare the living here to other facilities. This is not a smaller more intimate setting so may not work as well for some or perhaps a more elderly person or those who need a more social environment. There is a variety of age groups here. They also have independent living. There are daily activities. Transportation to appointments or activities is provided and David is so helpful and accommodating to his passengers. After visiting several places we decided on The Grove and after some time feel we made the best choice for our loved one.
Love the Grove!
reviewed on: 10/31/2019 by Angela TorresI toured this place last Saturday and I had a great experience. The place was clean, almost every staff member said hello and asked if I needed any help. I brought my mom for lunch that weekend as well and she really liked the food. We even saw one of the staff members eating with a resident. When I asked him why he was eating with the residents he said, “we always test the food out to make sure it tastes good”. I was really impressed and so was my mom. The girl giving us the tour seemed to know everyone by name and everyone was trying to talk with her. You can tell they liked her and talking to her made them feel better. We put a deposit down and will be moving in next month. I hope this helps anyone in the future when deciding on a place.
Compassionate Staff
reviewed on: 12/05/2017 by Bobbie TurnerThe Grove Care and Wellness My parents are residents in the assisted living facility at The Grove Care and Wellness. My step father had to be placed in the skilled nursing facility there and at the same time my mother was placed in home Hospice. The General Manager and his assistance made sure that my mother could remain there to be close to my step father while on hospice. Everyone there are the most compassionate people I ever met. My father remains there residing in the assisted living unit and likes it.
Love their staff and building is clean!
reviewed on: 10/28/2019 by Deborah Kyle WelshWent to tour the facility. It’s beautiful with lots of pretty furniture, it’s super clean, friendly staff and has spacious rooms. I was given a tour by Briana the Administrator. She was patient and friendly with us. I would have loved to move my mom in there that day but unfortunately they were full (which is a good sign), we put ourselves on the waiting list though. Their prices are absolutely amazing for the care they provide. I definitely I recommend others come and see this facility.
The Grove is a Great Place to Live for Senior Citizens
reviewed on: 11/17/2020 by CherylThis is a safe and comfortable place to live. The interactions with everyone is great. The staff is quick to respond to any concerns of mine. The food is a little on the weak side of the scale; however, I cook for myself.
