Community Reviews
very pleased
reviewed on: 05/29/2015 by AnonymousThey are very friendly, and they do an excellent job caring for my father who has dementia. They handle him very well. They told me that it would probably take him about six weeks to get settled in and comfortable there, and they were right as he is in that phase of it now. They have been very helpful and I am very pleased with them.
My brother seems to like it here.
reviewed on: 06/02/2015 by AnonymousMy brother seems to like it here. I haven't heard any complaints, about the food or anything else. That is a good thing! It's clean and the staff is friendly. Really he is adjusting well, and we like it. It's working out well.
Hollybrook is a pleasant, active community for seniors needing assistance.
reviewed on: 05/05/2014 by AnonymousStaff facilitates the residents to interact and participate in activities or at least be in the community rooms with others rather than just sitting in their rooms. Staff was most helpful during move-in and getting things in order such as getting the TV to work properly, running line for oxygen unit up and around to prevent tripping, etc. Appreciated that several residents shared how long they had been part of the Hollybrook community and that they enjoyed living there. Loved that residents actually order from a menu at each meal and place their orders in the same manner as being at a restaurant. Funny smell when you first enter but the rest of the facility is OK. Residents' artwork is displayed in the hallways and pictures of the residents are placed near the doorway so you can learn names and faces as well as where someone's room is.
Some Improvements Needed
reviewed on: 12/07/2017 by AnonymousOverall, our experience at Hollybook has been decent, but there are some things that could use improvements. When we were looking to move in, the people there went out of their way to understand what kind of care my loved one would need when he was released from the hospital. Now that we are there, the staff is still friendly and helpful with the residents, but they are not very good at responding to the families. The rooms there are also kind of small, and the location is not very good. The facility is nice and clean though, and the residents seem fine with what they get as far as the food is concerned.
small memory care portion
reviewed on: 08/07/2013 by VirginiaMy dad was there for about two weeks. I liked the facility and the people. It was small and more intimate. They weren't qualified to handle quite his state of dementia so he had to move to the memory care. The hallways is only thirty feet long and my dad is not that bad. It was too closed in for him.
