My review of The Gardens at Park Balboa
reviewed on: 10/19/2021 by Delia II love it here in the Gardens at Park Balboa. Before, my plan was to go back to the Philippines because getting a live-in main and driver is affordable and my "dollars" (pension) would go a long way. But there is no need for me to do that. As i have been telling my friends, I have a good life here at GPB - someone to clean my room, cook my food, etc. etc.
Warm and inviting
reviewed on: 11/07/2017 by AnonymousThis facility exceeds my expectations. Shirley has been phenomenal in helping us. They have been really nice and friendly. Everyone here is just so warm and inviting. When we toured, they had rooms available on the spot for us to pick out. When my Father moved in, I was on vacation, and he got really sick. The facility brought him to the hospital and back home. When I said I was going to come back home to see him, they said there was no need that they were taking care of him and they would call if anything changed. They have his genuine interest in mind. For activities, they have arts and crafts, movies, they take them to Walmart, and to the casino. This is just a great facility and I really recommend it.

Care Giving is Fair

This community is very restricted with their own rules that you either have the vaccine or take a test every 7 days before seeing your loved one. The communication with the staff is fair. I would change the communication due to the telephone line because the line breaks up and you can hardly hear what the person is saying.

I really liked Abby. She was super helpful with giving tips on how to deal with dementia and the transition to a new place.
