Review of Pacifica Senior Living Vista

reviewed on: 09/14/2020 by Satoko and Eriko

Thank you for everything you do for our "grammas" and "granmpas" every day from taking care of them in person to isolating yourselves from your loved ones and not attending gatherings with your friends to keep your residents safe. Please stay safe and take good care of yourself. You are always in our thoughts.

Great place, dad loved it! A few issues...

I wouldn’t change a thing about our decision of this care home for my dad. He loved the place and the food! The choice was incredible and the chef amazing! The grounds and rooms are like a hotel. They have all kinds of activities all day and even day trips out daily! He didn’t even want to go home. The coffee room and snacks are great! The price is very cheap compared to others in the county! The issues: we were told that there was a top limit that we wouldn’t pay over if he went to memory care, but months later, we had to pay 300 more than were told. Wish they would have given us a list of things to furnish his room. Staff washed his phone and we couldn’t call him during the pandemic and had to ask staff if we could use their phones which was MOSTLY okay, but difficult! They didn’t tell us we could have a window visit until a couple days before he went unfortunately. Then when he left us, the nurse told us in a very blunt fashion. :( But we still wouldn’t change our decision.

My father enjoyed a two-month respite stay after suffering a stroke. He made several friends and the staff took excellent care of him. His favorite part was the delicious restaurant-style dining!!

Review of Pacifica Vista

When I chose Pacifica Vista ten months ago as the residence that would best serve my mom's needs, I did so because I was impressed with the staff. I'm so happy I made that choice. Sadly, under the current conditions for sheltering in place,my mom's physical and mental state and deteriorated but your staff has done a wonderful job of meeting her needs with such compassion even with the increased demands of their jobs brought on by COVID-19 conditions. I love the plan that you have implemented to have staff members visit the rooms of the residents and chat with them. I'm so grateful for the times that you and [name removed] have come to my mom's room, visited with her and shared your cell phones with her so that she and I could Facetime. This is the first time Mom has ever lived separately from family. Now that I can't visit, it has been a blessing that we have had the opportunity to see each other face-to-face by phone. Mom has always has a special bond with [name removed] who has been very kind to my mom, stopping by her room to visit and encourage Mom to attend activities. Mom talks about her regularly in our phone conversations. I am grateful to [name removed] and [name removed], head nursing staff, who initiate calls to me to keep me informed about how my mom is doing. They have both been helpful and responsive in coordinating and resolving issues related to medications, outside doctors' appointments and change in Mom's condition. [Name removed] has also be pivotal in helping to resolve problems quickly. I also love and admire [name removed] and [name removed] at the front desk. [Name removed]'s cheerful smile and enthusiastic greeting always makes me feel like she and I are old friends. She, also, goes above and beyond to solve any problem or request, even when it demands more of her time in a job that can be very hectic. [Name removed]'s peaceful, yet efficient demeanor is always so This has been a heartbreaking time for me as I watch my mom's decline and cannot be with her. I am so blessed to know that the people I have entrusted with her care are such competent, kind people who their work as a calling and not just as a job. Thank you, [name removed], for all you have done for my mom and all the residents of Pacifica Vista, particularly at this difficult time.

Caretakers came by to check while I was visiting

reviewed on: 01/24/2015 by Anonymous

Both my mother and father moved into Rancho Vista about a month ago, as the community they were in was not able to provide memory care for my mother. Rancho Vista is very clean, staff members are very friendly and even came by to check on my parents while I was visiting. We were waiting for cable services to come, so the caretakers went to the dining room and brought back food for us -- we all felt that was terrific. Both receive help with medication management, which is great. While this community is more expensive than their previous one, I feel that they will get the care needed and are safe and secure. My father is very happy with the food. My parents have not participated in activities as of yet, but there are many. There is transportation service there as well for outings, doctors' appointments, etc. The only downside is visitor parking, which is very limited. Parking for residents is fine. Overall, I'm happy with the decision to have my mother and father move into this really nice community.
