New to the place
reviewed on: 05/18/2016 by AnonymousAbout a month ago our friend entered the village. Since that time we have been evaluating the services she needs and we are trying to adjust them to her needs. The place is nice and the staff are friendly. Our friend needs a little more assertive involvement of the staff to take her showers and take care of her daily activities. She is difficult at times but can be persuaded if taken the time to do so by the staff.
Great place, dad loved it! A few issues...

The grounds and rooms are like a hotel. They have all kinds of activities all day and even day trips out daily! He didn’t even want to go home. The coffee room and snacks are great! The price is very cheap compared to others in the county! The issues: we were told that there was a top limit that we wouldn’t pay over if he went to memory care, but months later, we had to pay 300 more than were told. Wish they would have given us a list of things to furnish his room. Staff washed his phone and we couldn’t call him during the pandemic and had to ask staff if we could use their phones which was MOSTLY okay, but difficult! They didn’t tell us we could have a window visit until a couple days before he went unfortunately. Then when he left us, the nurse told us in a very blunt fashion. :( But we still wouldn’t change our decision.
