Modest living for reasonable price
reviewed on: 09/23/2021 by anonymousWe chose Oak Manor because it is an actual villa rather than a hotel room shape, so she has a good size living space. She is able to have some additional care but still has independence. At first it was wonderful, but they do have new management that we are not the biggest fans of, they have not been very kind. The food is really good, but they are short staffed so there is not enough table bussers, now there is a lot of flies.
Would recommend this community
reviewed on: 08/26/2021 by Noreen PFrom the beginning to the end that have been wonderful, she is loving living there, very happy and feels very safe. I live out of state and they communicate very well, they call us to give us even the smallest update. They have been the most helpful, kind people and we honestly did not expect it to go as well as it did. The director calls all the time keeping me updated, and everyone morning our loved one has a call button and if she does not press that call button they come to check on her immediately. At first the meals were okay, but now they are excellent and due to the current circumstances the activities are still limited.
Did Not Like This Community
reviewed on: 08/29/2017 by AnonymousThere were certain things I look for when touring communities. The community appeared clean and well kept. However, I did not like the attitude of the staff. In sitting and talking to some of the residences they said that they really didn't like living there but it was what they could afford. So after speaking to them, I lost interest in this community.
a place for mom
reviewed on: 05/18/2021 by anonymousThe community is very neat and clean and the staff is very nice and friendly. The community is has a homey atmosphere. They have great transportation and the community is more like a home, not a facility. The community is a great value for the money. The food is great and they have lots of activities going on. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.
Heartbroken Mom spent her last weeks of life there
reviewed on: 10/31/2021 by Darla LThe Oak Manor SNF failed our mother who was hospice patient but placed on rehab side. The first week, mom was unable to do the 3-point to get in a wheelchair & she fell twice. We had a Care Plan meeting and stopped rehab & requested soft foods. In the midst of dealing with a dying family member, we were forced to turn away rehab daily and send her food tray back each meal to get the soft foods promised. The Suncoast Hospice nurse was as baffled as we were at the repeated disregard for what had been decided in the that meeting vs what was actually being done. Mom was in a lot pain that was not being controlled with the prescribed medicine intervals. She was unable to ask for addtl meds. We stayed with her feeding her, dismissing rehab and getting solid foods, & requesting more pain meds. We moved mom to a Suncoast Hospice Care Center. The lack of communication and training gaps at Oak Manor, left us with a heavy heart that we chose that institution in our mom’s darkest hours.
