My dad love it here
reviewed on: 11/06/2017 by AnonymousWe chose this community because of the feeling that we got when we toured this community. It is very inviting and when you walk in it doesn't smell like urine. My dad is making friends and loves the activities such as pet therapy. The staff is very friendly and caring. They were accommodating when we were moving dad in.The dining room is so elegant and the food is good. I would recommend this community. And a Place for Mom was so helpful.
A Caring Community for My Parents
reviewed on: 09/24/2020 by HeatherMy parents have been at Brookdale Burr Ridge for almost 18 months. They previously lived in Florida, but my dad's health issues made it impossible for them to be on their own anymore. Long story short, it was a quick yet stressful move for everyone. I was very nervous about moving them to assisted living, and fully expected them to hate it. Yes, the first couple of weeks were rough. But to my surprise, they settled into a routine and began to enjoy their new home. My mom speaks highly of all the staff ("There's no Nurse Ratched here," she tells me constantly). They both enjoy the food. They love sitting in the little courtyard in the warmer weather. Pre-COVID they were pretty involved in activities, including church services, Bible study, a fitness group, and game nights. To say I was shocked at how well they settled in would be an understatement! I am very grateful we found Brookdale, and especially thankful for everyone there who works to make my parents' experience such a good one. It may not be the fanciest place, but almost everyone here is kind and caring and does their best to make it feel like home.

The staff has been very helpful in helping my mother get accommodated to the new environment. They really put in the effort to get her into all of the activities that they have available. So far I haven't heard any complaints bout the food, so I'm assuming its good. The place overall has been very good.
Great nurses
reviewed on: 07/15/2016 by ChrisI want to start off by saying that the facility provides good care. The communication between the staff could use improvement. My father was on the assisted living unit and got sick, ended up in the hospital and was later transferred to the skilled rehab side. The rehab department was great and helped him gain his strength back. Adam was a GREAT nurse and my father became attached to him right away. They got him back to good strength and he went back home. The facility is costly and we decided not to take him back to the assisted living apartment. But if he needed rehab we would take him back to the skilled unit.

The care services provided to our loved one have met/exceeded our expectations. The wellness director and her team are committed to the health and safety of our loved one and maintain open communications. Having this confidence in the quality of care and responsiveness to inquiries has been especially important during the pandemic. Although social events and activities are limited now due to social distancing, the team is doing all they can to keep our loved one connected to family/friends and the community.
