Community Reviews
Wonderful place
reviewed on: 09/26/2021 by Nancy KI feel extremely lucky to be a part of this community. During COVID, administration was superb in managing our safety. I truly don't think I could have survived the pandemic if I had not been here. We were the first senior facility to receive the vaccine. The residents have a wide range of educational and professional backgrounds and I've made a wealth of meaningful and fulfilling friendships. I'm in the chorus (we need sopranoes!), on several committees and am leaving on an Admiral sponsored one day trip this week. There are frequent outings available, the dining is superb, the facilities excellent and administration is the best. Nothing bad to say after 4 years here.
The Best of the Best
reviewed on: 09/25/2021 by Kate DeMilleMy husband and I have been residents for 8 years and have enjoyed living here in a beautiful community of neighbors from all walks of life and experience. Everyone is friendly and supportive, both residents and staff. We loved our apartment the minute we saw it on the 10th floor with windows to the floor and a fantastic view of the lake. It takes only about 10 minutes to walk to the lake and our grandchildren have played on the beach in the summer and our pool in the winter. But the friendly atmosphere is the best - you will feel it the minute you walk thru the door,
A lifestyle choice superbly and timely made.
reviewed on: 09/25/2021 by BlissMy husband and I were among the very first residents of the new Admiral building. We have been here, most happily, for >9 years. We are fortunate to be healthy, mobile and active, and able to be deeply engaged in the vast riches that the community and the city of Chicago offer. I'm so glad we moved here relatively young and long, long before need. We called it the last best gift we've given to our children. Now we call it the best gift we've given to ourselves. Vibrant, diverse community. An embarrassment of riches in activity choices. A beautiful location.
A wonderful surprise
reviewed on: 10/04/2021 by Karen HI came to the Admiral because I had to! My good friend that shared a house with me had to move and I was forced to move!! So, the Admiral and I didn’t start out under the best of circumstances!! I picked a lovely 2 bedroom apartment on a low floor overlooking our garden and seating area. Two friends already lived here and that was really nice. The BEST surprise was the congeniality of all the residents, which remains true to this day. I DO NOT regret a single minute living here!! Everyone embraced my arrival, and I have since been able to make many more good friends!!
IT IS THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE
reviewed on: 09/25/2021 by PhilipWhen we moved to the Admiral we were 79 and still active. However my wife had been ill and I could see she was not the same person. The first five years we were fine in independent living and then she developed bronchial disease and eventually went on oxygen and had to go to assisted living in the Admiral. It was wonderful having everything under one roof. She went from AL to skilled nursing and I was able to be with her every day. I have had many surgeries and all my PT has been right here. Living at the Admiral was a gift to our children.
