Community Reviews
Nice place!
reviewed on: 01/18/2017 by AnonymousI liked the Brookdale Northbrook. I was a nice place and everyone was very friendly while I was on my tour. They seemed to be more willing to provide assisted living than other places.
Pleased with This Community
reviewed on: 05/01/2017 by AnonymousMy mother is doing much better with her move to this community. She is safe, and receiving good care at this facility. We are pleased with all they have done for us. They have a great staff at this community. They have been very caring, and welcoming. They really work well with the families of the residents. This is community I would recommend, it has worked out well for us.
Review of Brookdale Northbrook
reviewed on: 04/06/2020 by Geryl KramerMy mother has been at Brookdale for over 6 years. From the very beggining my family felt the warmth and caring attitude of the Brookdale staff which made the transition for my mom and our family much easier. Through the years my mom made nice friends and participated in social events. We got to know many of the independent and assistant living residents - and many became life family to us. The management from the manager, the people at the desk, to the head nurse of assistant living are great. And with the Corona Virus, several of the resident's children told me how grateful they are for the staff although in isolation they feel the staff has done everything to make the residents feel safe. The communication has been great and under extensive circumstances, they're going above and beyone.
Wonderful Experience at Brookdale Northbrook
reviewed on: 02/19/2021 by Debra NMy mother has been a resident for the last 3+ years in Independent Living at Brookdale Northbrook and I have nothing but the highest compliments to give to the facility and the entire staff. The facility is truly a residence and feels very much like a home. The facility is immaculate but not sterile. They have provided her a loving home and community that has brought her friendship, excellent care and social activities. The kind, caring, friendly and professional staff takes a very personal interest in each of the residents. The entire staff knows every resident by name and truly cares for their well being. During the COVID crisis, Brookdale has reacted quickly and professionally while still providing excellent care for the residents and staff. They have maintained a very low positivity rate and have communicated very effectively with the families of loved ones. As my mother's health started to decline, they were very proactive in working with my family to provide her with all of the services she needed to help her maintain as much independence as possible. The home health care providers, the physical therapists, occupational therapists, the nursing staff, the head of residential services, the director and assistant director and too many others to name all provided hands on care, patience and compassion that was truly unmatched and never will be forgotten. I highly recommend Brookdale North and I sing their praises every chance I get.
Not the right fit.
reviewed on: 03/18/2014 by DaveWhen we first spoke with Jeff over the phone, he was difficult to work with, and it was almost a turning-away point for us. However, after we met with him in person, we realized he was just very direct. We sat down and discussed our needs. He informed us that the average age of residents is over 80, which was not what we wanted for our loved one. It just didn't suit her personality. The community itself is nice. Each floor has their own activities going on. There is also a nice Golden Retreiver that sort of serves as the house pet! The facilities are nice, but they're not the cleanest. Also, their cancellation policy was not favorable. You have to be there for 12 months before you have give your notice with no penalty. All in all, this was not the right fit for my loved one.
