Comfortable Atmosphere
reviewed on: 04/09/2014 by AnonymousDuring the tour, I was impressed by the comfortable atmosphere of the facility. The size of my Mom's room is ABOVE average considering the price offered. Their dining area is also huge and is decorated beautifully. They have a wide variety of food which my Mom and I think is very tasty. The staff of Morningside is very friendly and accommodating. The reason I gave 4 and 1/2 stars out of 5 for activities is my Mom has not participated in any activities as she is still getting acclimated to her new surroundings. However, Morningside do offer a lot of things to do for our senior loved ones. Overall, my Mom have no complaints and I feel good knowing that she is in a place that she gets the help she needs and is safe.
Be Prepared to Be Your Loved One's Advocate!
reviewed on: 06/02/2016 by JacquelynMy father has been a resident on the memory care unit for a month now. We are pleased with the placement and he is happy and involved in the activities. The first few weeks were difficult as it wasn't clear what the expectations were for his care. Family members often found him unshaven, with missing shoes, teeth not brushed and his room in disarray. During his second week he had a fall and was found in his bed with bruising (but luckily no fracture). We have had conference calls with the administration and staff and found them to be very responsive and not defensive. On their last visit, family members found Dad clean shaven, with shoes on (which will hopefully reduce risk of more falls) and happily engaging in activities. It really is important to visit often and share feedback and concerns, especially for loved ones with dementia.
Things Are Going Okay
reviewed on: 08/24/2017 by AnonymousMy dad is doing ok since moving here a little over a month ago. He isn't liking the food, not a good variety. The staff is friendly and kind. They keep the community clean and well maintained. They offer activities but dad isn't participating in anything
