Pet Friendly!
reviewed on: 08/01/2013 by Laura TaylorI am tickled to death with Bickford! They take animals. They're very pet friendly and I think pets are good for older people. My mother is not impressed with the food. She said they don't give much choice. Where she was before, she didn't get involved in the activites. They had a person come in and do balloon animals and she knows something about that so she enjoyed that. She's in the hospital right now and she's looking forward to going back to Bickford. When I visited I didn't tell them I was coming; I just walked in the door. They were very friendly and helpful. They even helped with getting mother's furniture from her house.

My mom was the best memory wise and relationship wise (compared to the other residents) and you don't want that. The meals would be one hour before service. I don't know why, maybe they were lazy or something but they would get all the residents in and then it would be another hour before they ate. That was a conintuing problem. Mom recovered at Bickford from her broken leg.

They just make everybody feel like they are at home. They go out of their way to help. They have residents who have been there longer pair with a new resident. They do a lot of activities, my mother is never in her room when I call anymore. They go on little field trips out of the place as well. The food I would rate a four and a half. They've struggled with keeping good kitchen staff.
The best choice for us
reviewed on: 05/24/2017 by AnonymousI like that they find activities to match the resident's current care level. The staff are encouraging and even took the residents out to a movie. This is a small open memory care unit. The cost does not change as the residents care needs change. The residents all receive the care they need. They do whatever they can to make the residents happy. This is a privately owned community and I would recommend it for memory care.
