Wonderful!
reviewed on: 07/24/2019 by AnonymousGreat food, wonderful compassionate staff in a southern hospitality atmosphere! I can’t express how great our experience was at Tanbark. I would highly recommend to any family looking for a place for their loved one!
Wonderful facility & staff
reviewed on: 05/30/2019 by MimiMy 87yo mother recovered here after breaking her leg at home in a fall. The facility is beautiful, spacious, neat & clean. All the staff are friendly, helpful and patient. Her therapy was exactly what she needed, building her arm strength so she could progress from a wheelchair to a walker. That enabled her to begin weightbearing on her healing leg, following doctor's orders with the direction of the nurses and therapists. We have all been very grateful for the care she received. She is now back in her own home with a granddaughter and a home companion, continuing therapy. Thank you, Tanbark!
Too expensive
reviewed on: 10/28/2013 by NieceThis one seemed way overpriced to me, the apartments were big, they were really good, but they were also 5000 a month

reviewed on: 02/06/2016 by AnonymousFaculty is lovely and staff is friendly. Food is lacking and often cold. Hot water is an issue in the apartments. Have difficulty getting proper papers and documents in a timely manner to our long term care insurance Co. New management starting the first of the year and new supervisor just started the first of February so hopefully everything will improve soon.
Not the place to be.
reviewed on: 11/14/2015 by Caring daughterMy mother was there until I moved her to Sayre. I ended up CLEANING her bathroom most the time, no activities except occasional bingo, exercise was only a few trying to follow a grainy TAPE, on TV. Price was lousy, I talked to several ones who work there, 1 person had to keep up with many rooms, washer and dryer not easily accessible, only one each....the director was horrible, not easily approachable, many families dont like her, all in it for profit, the money, they cut corners, ( out of several employees mouths) and it shows! Several employees quit while my mother there and went elsewhere due to treatment of employees. Just plain mean. At Sayre, lobby is always full, wonderful activities ALL DAY LONG, the employees know everyone by name, always spending time, helping residents, carry on conversations with eveyone, never too busy, and out where they can be in contact, not hidden away in an office. 3 washing machines and 3 dryers for each floor too! Mom is so haspy, many friends, hose keeping hoes out if way to clean spts, even doing little extra wash if needed, always asking what can they do to help, a totally, TOTALLY different experience from Tanbark. The Willows is just as bad, no care, finally fired their director and nurse after we just packed up in one day and left, stolen items, no care. That bad. Think twice about Tanbark. When was last time many residents in lobby, laughing with workers, reading, so busy, people constantly in and out, interaction all day long. Director out with them, not hiding in office, conversation, laughing, Tanbark is dead as doornail, only place to go is dining room or your apt. Not the life for someone who should be busy all day, interacting with others. All Tanbark wants is money. Sayre is non ptofit, full apts, like a home should be, and caring! ! Residents given snacks in little pouch at their door to snack on, granola bar to apple or orange, nice treat for them. The day I moved our loved one out of Tanbark, another family was getting ready to do same thing, the gentleman's mother. They overheard me on my cell, we talked outside for a while. They had same concerns as I did. She was alone, and "didn't like it there" he said. They took my advice, moved his mom too. Sayre is home to many, non profit yet you get more for less. Check it out. Half the price too!!
