Community Reviews
Inaccuracies in information.
reviewed on: 03/14/2017 by AnonymousThe pictures you show are NOT those of the dementia unit but rather the independent and guest apartments. The cost you quoted is also inaccurate. We pay over $8,000 a month for basic care in the Wellness Center which also houses non mobile dementia residents. The Highland Court Nursing area, which is a secure locked unit is the same price and you have to pay for your own cable TV. I have no experience yet with that unit, but have visited it and found it to be an older facility that, in my opinion, needs updates badly. The staff there is purported to be excellent and caring.
The best thing our mom did
reviewed on: 07/22/2020 by Sonya TabladaOur mother has been in independent living for three years and is thriving. Some areas are a little worn but they've been continually redoing areas. It's very clean. Until Covid restrictions she took advantage of all the activities offered including water aerobics, Brains in Balance, parties, games. The food was excellent, especially the Sunday brunch. Staff very caring. She is happy and safe. Hopefully things will return to normal soon. Administration has done an excellent job of keeping everyone protected and informed during this trying time.
Great facility, unfortunate...

It was a nice place.
reviewed on: 11/07/2014 by Family MemberIt was a nice place. My loved one lived here for seven or eight years. We decided to move her closer to family. It was clean and the staff was friendly. There were no major concerns.
Unfortunately
reviewed on: 04/12/2017 by TruthSorry to say its the worst place to be if you're ill or need care. Except that it tends to be clean. The care is disgraceful, even to the point of denying water and access to a pull cord /nurse button if services are needed. People w nice reviews usually have only seen the independent living section. Healthy elderly enjoy great care and activities, largely because they can still speak and think clearly, ouldn't ever put up with disastrous care services provided to the ill and vulnerable there. I've heard and seen so many terrible stories of their "care." The funeral home told me many of the family members of the deceased report horror stories about St James Place. I only want to get the word out to try to help others avoid additional pain, regret, sorrow.
