Community Reviews
Friendly, Caring Community
reviewed on: 02/28/2020 by KathrynThe Village at Alameda is a very friendly community. I am a health care professional and I found their care to be a cut above. The staff and my mother’s fellow residents were very welcoming when she moved there from out of state. With about 75 residents the facility is large enough to offer a variety of activities and social opportunities, yet small enough for staff to get to know the residents well. There are certain caregivers who consistently lead the way to go above and beyond. When you see the passion they bring to their care, it gives a level of comfort to both residents and family. There is a range of different sizes and layouts for the apartments and we moved my mother into a unit that was perfect for her needs. Housekeeping and laundry services are included in these pet-friendly apartments. Public areas and grounds are appealing and well-kept. The inviting dining room with small tables, a large fireplace, salad bar and rotating menus can also accommodate in-room tray delivery. The Village staff coordinated caregiving very well with our hospice team and our family. We were kept informed constantly regarding my mother’s care and condition, which allowed us to be fully involved in her evolving needs. While moving a loved one to assisted living is often stressful for families, the staff and management of the Village eased that process considerably for all of us. We highly recommend The Village at Alameda for when time come when this level of care is needed for a loved one.
Strong and weak points
reviewed on: 08/15/2017 by AnonymousStrong Points: Nice sized rooms; very good views of the mountains and Albuquerque skies as you walk around or wheel around the grounds; sunny, cheery dining room with lots of windows; salad bar available at lunch and dinner in addition to meals, and also a menu from which one can make a selection if the dinner choice does not suit you; residents enjoy bingo, poker, and frequent music programs; transportation for medical appointments is available two days a week; chief administrator and senior staff are very caring towards residents and their families. Weak Points: Staff turnover is a real problem. Resident assistants change frequently, and this detracts from resident care, as it takes time for new staff to learn the needs of each resident. Training is lacking for new resident assistants, this again detracts from resident care, particularly for those residents whose level of functioning is somewhat lower

Thank you!
reviewed on: 02/11/2020 by AnonymousMy parents have lived there for 4 years and we couldn't be happier. The director is wonderful and responsive to all their needs. We are so grateful to the staff who really care about our parents. We are thankful that they are in a place where we don't have to worry about their care and they are glad to be there.
A Good Fit for my mom
reviewed on: 09/06/2016 by RCThe care has been very well for my mom here. All the staff and caregivers are nice and easy to converse. From what I see, the community does a good job cleaning the grounds, the public areas, and my mom's room. She is satisfied with the meal options and taste.
