Homelike atmosphere
reviewed on: 04/06/2017 by Linda McCluskeyMy mom has been a resident of Vassar Warner Home for almost 2 years now. The staff is caring, kind and efficient. The residence is well cared for and is not institutional, but homelike, pleasant and cozy.
Excellent, Affordable and Cozy!
reviewed on: 07/07/2017 by Elizabeth RonelVW has been a Godsend! It is affordable and cozy. The care is fantastic. The staff is attentive and always available as is the Director. It's a large Victorian building so it's not a spread out giant campus. Everything is stacked on top of eachother- cafeteria, social and entry hall, resident rooms thereafter. It's perfect. They have field trips, music, movies and take requests. It's not a stuffy, snobby home. It's relaxed and old fashioned which I love for my mom. I'd live there. Every room has a sink and an AC and a tv. The showers are communal for safety reasons and the residents are all with an attendant while they shower. I feel so fortunate to have found this for my mother.
VW turned my mother around!
reviewed on: 04/10/2018 by ERatineI cannot day enough great things about VW! I put my mother there and she has changed for the better. She enjoys the ever present and always helpful staff. She likes the friends she’s making. She loves the choice of activities and the physical home itself. It’s cozy and comfy and provides everything they need and want. It’s not glitzy and a campus. It’s a home- small and intimate. I chose this over the “fancy” places bec they are too big and just too, too. I thank God for VW every day.

They were nice people there.
reviewed on: 12/12/2013 by FamilyThey were nice people there, the building was 150 years old it has been a nursing home continously from that time. The rooms are miniscule. You shared a room and a bathroom. They are for a higher level of care. Assisted living, there is no doctor on-site, they will despense medicine. The old age homes smell of death and urine, and thats what you smell when you walk in death and urine or Lysol.
