Absolutely Dedicated Staff
reviewed on: 09/09/2015 by AnonymousI would say that the entire staff at The Bristal Assisted Living was absolutely dedicated to the dignity and quality of life of the residents there. They treated my loved one with respect and genuine concern.
good experience
reviewed on: 10/29/2015 by AnonymousThe Bristal Assisted Living has been a good experience. She needs a lot of physical therapy and speech therapy. There could always be more done with that regard. Other than that things seem to be going well at this facility. We are pleased so far.
An ok community
reviewed on: 04/13/2017 by AnonymousThis was a nice community when I visited. I think they were under new ownership as they seemed disorganized. They did not seem very friendly and they did not respond to the questions we asked. The community seemed clean, however I did not seem to get the warm feeling we were looking for.
Excellent memory care unit with compassionate care.
reviewed on: 02/12/2019 by Arnold Eggers, M.D.When my brother's Alzheimer's disease rapidly worsened last summer, I realized I could no longer take care of him and would need to find a nearby memory care unit. I interviewed five nearby places and believe that I made the correct choice. Both my brother and I are retired physicians and I understand the special kind of calling which is required to work in a memory care unit, where all residents are gradually losing ground. The staff of the Bristal, top to bottom, seem to have this calling: they provided sensitive compassionate care from the very beginning. I was initially so upset it took me a couple weeks to finalize what I knew was the right decision. There has been no looking back. My brother is always well groomed and looked after. There is a geriatric psychiatrist who visits weekly and with whom I had a couple of good conversations at the beginning (I may have gotten special treatment because of being a physician myself). I would recommend this paradoxically cheerful and lovely place to anyone.
Bristal White Plains, NY
reviewed on: 04/06/2015 by Anne GreenbergMy mom has lived at the Bristal in White Plains for almost 2 months now. The staff is very helpful and courteous. The building is cheerful and spotless. My Mom's room is perfect for her. The bathroom set up is much safer than we had for her at home. She has been participating in bingo and the knitting club. Hopefully now that the weather is getting better she will venture out. There has been an issue in the dinning room. She feels it takes too long to order and be served and often the wrong meal is served. I was also concerned that the staff was not familiar with at home INR testing for her Coumadin. We did work it out quickly though. I am very happy with the Bristal and would recommend it.
