It was fine but it was an older facility and the rooms were very small, the bathrooms were very small; it was just a bedroom and a bathroom and wasn't very home-like.

Beware and be cautious with your loved one

I would want others to know that in the very beginning I had always told them I wanted them to stay in touch with me on a weekly basis letting me know how my dad is doing. I never got any of that. He refused assistance with a shower and they never did any body or skin checks. If it weren't me for insisting on going in, they would have never seen some of these things. His hygiene has taken a big hit since he has been in here. I took him to the dermatologist and it was a full body check and they did not put underwear on him before. They do have fun activities going on but when he says no they do not encourage him to participate. The value for the money is not here. Overall, I am not pleased with our experience.

Highly recommend for a loved one

From what we have seen of the community it is clean, the staff have been friendly over the phone. They are doing activities like movies, in place exercises, getting your nails and have birthday celebrations. It is extremely expensive but you do get what you pay for.

Seemed empty...

Spring Arbor was comparable to other communities we also liked in the area. I liked the layout and it was a nice community. The only feeling I didn't like while I was there was that no one was around and it seemed empty. I may have toured on a day where the residents were gone on an outing.

What dad needed

reviewed on: 10/07/2013 by Daughter

It's okay so far, I felt like dad was having problems at home going out the door, it was beginning to be an issue, he was determined to go out the door and there was a highway right there so we had to put him in a lock down facility. The only thing we've had difficulty with is he was rolling off of their beds so we had to get a hospital bed. Their staff is very friendly, they do activities in the front, the have a dance night or some kind of thing, he'll sit down and pat his leg to the beat of the music. They got him doing coloring, just doing what he can do and I like the value of it and I like the way with the lock down area you have to have a code to get in.
