My tour review

A great fit for my mom
reviewed on: 10/06/2020 by Penny BartlesWe chose this community because of the location and they only allow 14 in their Alzheimer's unit, so we like the ratio, it is more individualized care and every morning they do their hair and nails. The room sizes here are very large, they have 2 to a room but they are spacious. I have not eaten here but my mom seems to love it. Since COVID, we are able to make appointments and have porch visits Tuesday-Saturday. My favorite part about the community so far has been the care she receives, she seems happy every time we see her. When we could go in before covid, we could interact with the residents and they seemed happy and they all got along.
God's Angels
reviewed on: 05/20/2019 by AnonymousI can't say enough good about Spring Arbor. They have gone above and beyond to help me with my father and his journey with Dementia! They have even given me so much information to help me understand this awful disease! The best thing they gave me was a book titled, "Learning To Speak Alzheimer's"! Anyone out there experiencing this disease right now, I highly recommend getting a copy of this book! It answers so many questions and gives real life experiences. My dad started Spring Arbor in Assisted Living, and a terrific value I might add. But, being his only family member available and my own health challenges with MS, I didn't have any available funds to help with his finances. The team at Spring Arbor was so very compassionate. I had never been through anything like this in my life, and through many searches and facility tours, I quickly received an education! All I knew was my Dad needed more help than I was able to provide him at home, and neither of us could afford it! At my rowes end with many tears, Spring Arbor's staff kept telling me to take a deep breath, calm down, everything would be okay. They made it okay! My dad was there a short while and needed to be moved to memory care! Oh my gosh! That's even more money, which I didn't have! Again, the Spring Arbor staff so concerned about me, took my dad on in memory care to help me! God's angels, is all I can say! Now, sad to say, his Dementia has advanced even more, and Spring Arbor can not supply the level of care he needs now, they just don't have the "extra" staff to supply that. He needs a sitter with him 24/7 until I can find another skilled nursing facility to take him! Of course I would have to pay for that! Since being put at Spring Arbor, I haven't found any more money nor won any lottery! So, again I can't pay for that! Again, Spring Arbor came to my rescue and provided an outside caregiver 24/7 for 7 days hopping to help me till I find another facility to care for my dad!! All I can say is, God is GOOD, and Thank You Spring Arbor! You are truly Angels!
Memory Care
reviewed on: 07/14/2021 by xyzIf your loved one has dementia and medical issues this is not the place you want to place them. After two covid shots and two trips to the hospital, mom ended up with many medical issues. These issues could not be handled by the Memory Care facility. They are continually short handed Resident Assistants (not CNA's) and one Med-Tech at times that has to work the Assisted Living and the Memory Care residents. Short staff caused temporary helpers to be called in........remember these are our family members with dementia..........new faces coming in room to do changes and other ADL's made mom anxious and stressed. "who are these people" those new helpers were not recognized by the residents. Because of mom's medical issues she was left in her room most of the day.
A bad experience
reviewed on: 06/06/2017 by AnonymousMy husband was only at the community for about a week before he fell. I asked the staff to please keep an eye on him the day he fell. I do not think they were able to provide him with the proper care he needed. The food was ok and they did keep the community clean. They did not encourage the residents to eat. I would not recommend this community.
