Be careful - never assume
reviewed on: 12/25/2017 by AnonymousSpring Arbor seems to be better than other places my family looked into - more people on staff, which is a big deal. But anyone looking for help for alzheimers need to face the reality that just because you lock them into the memory cottage and administer their medicines doesn't mean you're an expert on alzheimers. I've experienced CNAs treating my mother as if she had a proper working memory and problem solving skills due to their own lack of understanding or care. If you plan to put your mom here, have a very detailed careful conversation with the managers and check on her regularly. Neglect happens in many subtle ways that add up over time.
It was not a good experience
reviewed on: 02/10/2021 by anonymousThere was not a lot of physical therapy going on because of the quarantine, and we were not able to eat in the dining room. It did not really meet my needs and every time you left the building you had to quarantine.
Overall a Good Place
reviewed on: 05/14/2020 by AnonymousSpring Arbor was the only community that was able to accommodate both of my parents' varied health care needs. The food is good. They do not offer a large discount for the second person in a couple like others in the area. They have a nice porch and a walkway but they do not have much usable outdoor space. Communication among the staff is not good. We have to make multiple requests when we have an issue. I feel they are understaffed now with the Covid -19 due to the need to serve all the residents meals to them in their rooms which takes time.I do understand they are doing their best. It is nice that they do offer both Assisted Living and Memory Care. My dad is in the process of moving to memory care and it will be nice for my mom to be able to see him daily. Staff is very friendly.

They are on top of the care of my loved one. My loved one has adapted to the community. The communication is good and they are fairly prompt in their responses.
Care and comfort
reviewed on: 07/07/2017 by AnonymousThis is a nice community and is getting very attentive. The menu is good and appealing with a nice variety. I like knowing that she is getting involved. This is a small community and they make it very safe. A nice home atmosphere and other families would be happy with the care and value and environment for a loved one.
