reviewed on: 11/07/2019 by AnonymousMy sister currently lives in this community and she loves it. She has had a cat for 10 years and was thrilled that she could keep her furry companion with her. The open floor and big enough that if weather isn't conducive to taking her daily walk outside on walking trail, she can do her walk indoors.

Our loved one worked their whole life and saved etc. just like we all do, but they didn't account for the pricing involved in having to be taken care of when they got older, esp not at Brookdale. This place truly sets the standard for the care your loved one deserves. Unfortunately, 90% of the people who deserve this kind of care won't be able to afford it at Brookdale. This place is wonderful, so wonderful in fact, that my advice would be to not bother to walk in the door. Just drive on by to the place your loved one can afford. Once you see this place and experience it's care, nothing else will do, and that's a problem if you are the average older person. It breaks our hearts we can no longer afford to keep our loved one here. It truly does.

reviewed on: 06/10/2015 by Kate TreasureMom is a new resident at Brookdale Chestnut Hill but so far we have been very pleased. The staff are warm, friendly and very professional. We are looking forward to a continuing relationship with Chestnut Hill.

reviewed on: 11/13/2013 by DaughterWe are warming up to it. The problem is that it is an assisted living place, and my mom needs full care. Hospice is working with us now, so it's better. Jim, the director, is very hands on. Pushes wheelchairs around and is very involved. The nurses are good and the aids are good, just not enough of them. They even cut one out just recently and they really do need to have more people and aids. It's a nationwide problem. I think that they are all pretty much the same. We had to fight over the medication a little - they want to keep her slow and over-medicated. We lowered the doses, and she is doing much better. They have the best entertainment, it is just amazing. they have an 18 piece jazz band that has come in every Sunday night for the last ten years. They do exercises and are very engaging with the residents.
