Very high price for different levels of care
reviewed on: 11/15/2017 by AnonymousI toured here when looking for a place for my mom to go. They did an evaluation of my mom and they gave me a very high price and part of it was just to feed her. It felt like everything was just added right on top of each other, all on top of the base price for the room. The interaction between the staff and the residents seemed good, though. The facility seemed to be clean; it’s an older facility and nicely decorated. One evening while I was there, they were doing a happy hour but it looked like it was for the residents that were able to move around on their own. On the other side they were giving them cookies and things like that, so they were able to get everyone interacting and involved in some way, just not as a whole facility. We wound up going to a different community, ultimately.

Home away from home!

This community was always kept clean and we thought the value of this community was good. The care services were great, they took very good care of our loved one. There was always something going on at Chestnut, they had a bunch of arts and crafts, they would bring in a lot of live entertainment, and one day they even gave everyone manicures. What really stood out to us at first, was the lady who greeted us at the front door. She was so welcoming, and probably the nicest one there. She knew everything that was going on, she was very helpful and made us feel very comfortable.
Didn't like what I saw in their memory care

What I saw of the assisted living portion looked fine, and the staff I interacted with on my tour were friendly and helpful. However, when I was taken to see the memory care section I just didn't like what I saw. The residents all seemed dazed and out of it, and I don't think I would have been comfortable placing my loved one here.
