Community Reviews
Spacious facility
reviewed on: 01/20/2016 by AnonymousSpacious facility with large community dining and entertainment area. Wasn’t able to see outside grounds because of timing of visit. The one bedroom-2 bath apartment consisted of two studios with connecting doorway cut in wall but seemed adequate for couple. The bathrooms were nice, adequate closet. The living area and bedroom did not have overhead lighting which must be provided by individual lamps so there was no switch to light the area when entering through the door.

Home away from home!
reviewed on: 10/09/2020 by Teresa ToeniskoetterWe thought the staff at Chestnut Hill were very nice, and caring. This community was always kept clean and we thought the value of this community was good. The care services were great, they took very good care of our loved one. There was always something going on at Chestnut, they had a bunch of arts and crafts, they would bring in a lot of live entertainment, and one day they even gave everyone manicures. What really stood out to us at first, was the lady who greeted us at the front door. She was so welcoming, and probably the nicest one there. She knew everything that was going on, she was very helpful and made us feel very comfortable.
I do not get a warm and fuzzy feeling
reviewed on: 05/04/2017 by AnonymousThe services offered by this community are not all inclusive as you have to pay for them separately. This was not brought to my attention when we looked at this community. I think they are understaffed. The staff that are there seem to be stretched thin. They do their best to take care of my loved one. The food is good and they do keep the community clean. The grounds are nice. I do not think they have enough activities to keep my loved one active.
our family experience during the first month for our mother
reviewed on: 09/28/2013 by Daughters of BCStaff are friendly and try to engage residents. Public areas are attractive, open and airy with much natural light from windows. One area that was uncomfortable was no staff member shared info on dining room assignment. Family struggled first 10 days knowing where Mom was to sit at meals. There are assigned seats we finally discovered, but no one explained how to find your assignment. We just kept asking kitchen staff what should we do and finally a seat was assigned with two residents that could not speak. With persistence, my sister and I finally got Mom moved to a table with a resident that could communicate. In general the food is very average, but tolerable. Mother is having difficulty adjusting, but staff have been helpful trying get her involved, so we appreciate that.
