Community Reviews
It's been very positive..
reviewed on: 07/01/2015 by AnonymousIt's been very positive. I think it has been really good. The hard part has been my mothers transition. There is a lack of activities. There's not enough for my mother to do. There is an exercise group that she participates in. She's not into bingo and things like that. I think it would be nice if they had book readings and outdoor activities. The people have been absolutely wonderful. I would recommend this place.
Good respite care!
reviewed on: 08/05/2015 by AnonymousWe used Powell Valley Assisted Living for a brief respite stay for my loved one, and overall I think they did a great job. It's a nice looking, clean facility, and the staff were all very friendly. They did a great job making her feel welcome and introducing her to the community. It's a very nice place!
Good communication from the staff
reviewed on: 12/12/2017 by AnonymousMy Mom has been here for about a month and a half and things seem to be going well enough. It’s been a bit of a transition, but the staff has been very patient and anytime I have any questions or concerns they’re able to address those in a good amount of time. There’s really good communication back and forth. The dining area always smells wonderful and the menu looks like it has some pretty good options. The facility will take the residents out once a week to do some site seeing or take them to the store and they have a monthly calendar filled with planned events that everyone can participate in.
Nice community
reviewed on: 08/10/2020 by HerbIt is a very attractive facility. The staff seem to care about the residents and they seem to be well staffed. I chose this community because after visiting several others, I liked this one the best and it was close to home. I would recommend this community to other families.
Assisted Living and Memory Care
reviewed on: 11/05/2013 by DaughterI picked Powell Valley mainly because it has the assisted living and memory care and they accept Medicaid. Those are two big pluses. They have been okay. They haven't been spectacular on the care. My mom is 100% dementia so they first went in to the assisted living and we just moved her to memory care, splitting my parents up. It was very discouraging for us to do that and we're still in the process of making sure that was the right move. In the assisted living there is not a lot of one on one care which I guess that was my fault for not looking into that before hand. Besides that it's been okay. I feel the assisted living part is really clean. I'm not really happy with the cleanliness of the memory care part yet. It's a little bit older and not as updated as the assisted living. I really do like the activities in the memory care. They're trying to get them to be involved.
