Assisted Living and Memory Care
reviewed on: 11/05/2013 by DaughterI picked Powell Valley mainly because it has the assisted living and memory care and they accept Medicaid. Those are two big pluses. They have been okay. They haven't been spectacular on the care. My mom is 100% dementia so they first went in to the assisted living and we just moved her to memory care, splitting my parents up. It was very discouraging for us to do that and we're still in the process of making sure that was the right move. In the assisted living there is not a lot of one on one care which I guess that was my fault for not looking into that before hand. Besides that it's been okay. I feel the assisted living part is really clean. I'm not really happy with the cleanliness of the memory care part yet. It's a little bit older and not as updated as the assisted living. I really do like the activities in the memory care. They're trying to get them to be involved.
I would rate this community as a 10!!!
reviewed on: 06/29/2016 by AnonymousMy in laws are doing great since moving into Powell Valley. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive to them. The food is good and they offer a wide variety of healthy choices. They are still adjusting so they have not yet started participating in any of the activities offered. This is a clean community and I would recommend it to family and friends.

reviewed on: 12/25/2012 by A Place For Mom CustomerI'll take Mom here for lunch and let her see the facility and see what she thinks. It also doesn't have much outdoor walking opportunities.
Great Accommodations !!

The residents are lovely and have made my grandmother feel welcomed and comfortable in her new living environment. I would highly recommend this community!!
I like the organization and the staff..
reviewed on: 06/23/2015 by AnonymousI like the organization and the staff. My only criticism is the weekly cleaning of my aunt's apartment. It doesn't seem very thorough. Overall, it has been a very good experience. Everyone there seems very nice and caring. They offer activities. I have already recommended it to people I know. The Powell Assisted Living & Memory Care is a really nice community with a nice atmosphere. It has been good.
