Mom's happy—I'm not. I want better for her.
reviewed on: 06/29/2016 by AnonymousMom has been her for a couple of years. She is happy here, but I'm disappointed. The care they say they give is different than the care that is actually given. Mom's room is supposed to be cleaned daily, it's cleaned thoroughly once per week. Otherwise, it's hit or miss. Her floor doesn't seem to be swept or mopped except for that one day. The bathroom is supposed to be checked and cleaned, if needed, every shift—three times per day. It might happen once per day. Things are always missing from her room, even if they consider it trash, she or I should be informed that it's taken. They have quarterly service reviews, but rarely anything I say in those reviews is acted upon. The food—well, it's been ok, but on my last visit it was terrible. It's very inconsistent. Most of the food is bland, but then some is way too salty, vegetables are mushy and overcooked, chicken was very dry. The menu has two options, but only one dessert. Desserts seem to be good. The activities used to be great, but now they are so-so. Mom plays more bingo than does anything else. I'm sad, because I wanted this to be her final home, but it looks like I'll be looking elsewhere.
Wonderful place and staff!!
reviewed on: 09/04/2018 by Gayle DingmanWe moved our folks into Cedar Village on March 1, 2018. The transition was a bit difficult for mom because it was necessary for them to give up their home and car. And, after 6 months of them being cared for/assisted by the Cedar Village staff, I can honestly say that it has been a true blessing for them! My parents have been well treated and cared for. Not only have all their needs been met, but they have been exceeded. The facility is ALWAYS clean and inviting! The staff is caring, understanding and helpful. My mom had a last minute urgent doc appointment and I was sick and couldn't go with her and the staff stepped up to get her to her appt, set me up with a conference call in the docs office and were beyond helpful. They truly set my mind at ease! A huge Thank You to Gina, Debbie and everyone else who came to our rescue! It's comforting to know we can count on you for back up when I can't be there. Thank you so very much for helping to make this time of their life so much easier/better for them!
Dad was happy here
reviewed on: 12/27/2017 by AnonymousDad was in this community for a couple of months. He enjoyed being here. The staff was really nice and helpful. It stayed clean in here. They had 3 great meals a day. He would get involved with the daily activities. I would recommend this community.
We Are Happy With Them
reviewed on: 08/21/2015 by AnonymousThey always answered our questions. I was always able to call and reach someone and get an answer, so that was good. It's hard to say what they could improve on, maybe just a little more variety in the food choices. In general, we are happy with it.
