Community Reviews
Good community but pricey
reviewed on: 03/13/2017 by AnonymousMy father-in-law is a resident here. They offer a lot of socialization and he is getting involved in activities. He is a finicky eater and he appreciates that they offer an alternative menu. They could improve their prices, it is rather expensive. They do offer significant discounts and coupons on various things in the Clipper Magazine. We did not know this upon moving in and other families informed us.
Really great place for my Mom
reviewed on: 12/19/2013 by SonWe couldn't be happier with this place, I really can't think of any way they could improve. They really take great care of the residents, especially in the memory care unit. They're very friendly, and treat visitors with a lot of respect, they're always trying to get us to stay for lunch when we visit. If I could rate this place higher than 5 on any of these categories I would!
The staff is good.
reviewed on: 02/06/2014 by FamilyI like The Chelsea but I think they can improve when it comes to communication. The staff is good. I was satisfied in the beginning, but we had a several scary incidents. There are communication issues. There have been a few mix ups and they need to get a better system for medication management. It is very clean and sanitary. When we call now to check in, we detect a little frustration with us, it feels like they have lost their patience with us, it's different now. The staff is very pleasant. The administration seems to be where the issue is. We don't have the security that we had before, we used to feel very safe with her there. I think they are suitable, I've seen improvements. They have music and singing and painting and are always doing things. They do have doctors and nurses on staff twenty four hours. It's not the cheapest facility that she could be in and I don't think it's the most expensive either. For the amount of money you are paying monthly I think there could be a lot of improvements. I was looking for her safety security and well being, and her ability to be able to function in a place similar to home. At the beginning everything was good but as time goes on you can hear the impatience and irritability in the tone of their voice.
Survey
reviewed on: 10/01/2016 by Cheryl PenroseThe staff at The Chelsea are so friendly and caring and bend over backwards to make my mom, Katherine Costa, feel comfortable and at home, especially Lisa Welch and Michele Adams & Patricia, the Activities Director. Lisa made sure my mom was at a table for her meals, where the residents were more sociable and outgoing, as my mom is rather shy at first, but then does feel more comfortable, as she gets to know others.

reviewed on: 12/22/2012 by A Place For Mom CustomerWe are hoping to move my mother into this location. Have talked with the Director since our tour & are working up on setting up the Nursing Asessment & proceeding from there. Sounds like we'll be locked in at the shared rate.
