Very Encouraging To My Father
reviewed on: 05/03/2016 by AnonymousMy father is doing very good at this community and he has adjusted well to it. The community looks great and it is always clean and well-kept. The staff is really good, they are doing a good job caring for my dad. There are many activities for the residents to choose from. They do a good with encouraging my dad to get involved. The food is good, they do sever a well balanced meal. He is getting the type of attention he needs. So I would recommend this community.
Could not have been more impressed
reviewed on: 09/27/2018 by Paula DeckerI made an appointment with Carol Williams , a marketing representative at the Birches in Newtown, to tour the facility with my 95 year old mother. From the moment we entered the Birches, I could not have been more pleased or impressed! The building and grounds are clearly well-cared for, impeccably appointed and inviting. Carol gave us a leisurely tour where we met several residents and go to see the many amenities The Birches offers. She took additional time to answer our questions and was even able to show us the rooms of several residents with their permission. I'm hoping mom makes the decision to move in, I know she will have a great experience getting to know the other residents and enjoying all the Birches has to offer. And if the rest of the staff is as lovely as Carol, that would be the topping on the cake.

The Birches is Wonderful!
reviewed on: 11/12/2018 by Laurel CollinsThe Birches as Newtown is wonderful, I can't recommend it highly enough. The nurses and aides really got to know and care about him as a person. The aides came around pretty frequently to check on him. Food was great too. He wasn't much of a joiner so he didn't partake in many activities, but from what I saw, there was a nice variety and the other residents seemed to enjoy themselves. He loved having his own studio, which was way more space than he needed! Holy cow it was huge! The dining area was very gracious and calm, which he really enjoyed. My dad lived there for about 4 months before he passed away in the hospital, but it was home to him. He was very very happy there. The quality of his life was very good at Birches- much better than living in his old home by himself, and way better than rehab in a nursing home (where he came from prior to moving in).
