Thank you Palmettos!
reviewed on: 11/27/2017 by KathleenMy mother was on the memory hall for three years. Previously in another Charleston home and one in Beaufort that were negligent! All I can say is, thank you Palmettos. My mother was loved there, and cared for, as she needed. Is the situation perfect? No. We had some issues, but where don't you. There will always be some caregivers who do not meet the calling! Is any home perfect, no. I could not keep my mother myself, but I could stay involved and on top of her care. When you place a loved one in a home, you are not discharging your responsibility, you are sharing it. Be honest with your expectations and do not gripe when others are doing what you are unable or refuse to do! The caregivers knew my mom, the staff knew who she was, and they knew her family and we are eternally grateful for the care at Palmettos. My gratitude to Karen who runs the memory wing. She is an authentic and sincere caregiver!

reviewed on: 04/10/2019 by AnonymousWhen you walk through the front door, the Palmettos Assisted Living feels like "home", not an institution nor a hotel. The staff are welcoming, warm and personable. Care is customized to "fit" individual residents such as a bag of ice in refrigerators of residents who enjoy ice water throughout the day, bags of fresh popped corn in an old fashioned popcorn maker.cart and bathing assistance and room cleaning fir into residents schedules. All residents are part of the Palmettos "family" and treated with respect and kindness at all times. All staff members are reliable, observant and diligent. If a medical emergency arises, all staff members are competent to manage it with effectiveness and efficiency.
