Never a Dull Moment
reviewed on: 03/09/2015 by Anne CommertonOne thing you can say about Brightwater is that there is never a dull moment. You can go on trips to wineries, visit beautiful Brook Green Gardens, go on boat rides on nearby lakes and rivers as well as enjoy a wide variety of in house and outside entertainment. If you like to read and do crafts there are several from which you can choose. The variety of events means that there is something for all tastes. Sometimes it is just pleasant to sit outside, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, soak up the sun, and chat with your neighbors. Recently, I have become a member of the Resident Advisory Council, editor of the Brightwater newsletter, and chairman of the Book Keys book club. This involvement has allowed me to give back to the community that I love so much.
Review of Brightwater
reviewed on: 09/18/2019 by Janet L OrgoodThis community offers tri-level care and it is located in the heart of Myrtle Beach. It's comfortably close to the beach and has activities nearby. I am grateful of the close proximity to medical facilities. The availability of exercise classes to help prevent falls and maintain mobility - it's available daily. I enjoy the stretch and breathe classes and other strength/mobility exercises. There's always something for us to choose from for activities. That are fun and educational. The comfort of knowing that additional care is readily available at any time should I need that assistance.
Luxury Cruise Ship on Land
reviewed on: 02/04/2015 by Tim GertsmeyerMy wife and I moved to Brightwater October 1, 2014 and it is more than we had hoped it would be. There are many amenities, a very friendly and helpful staff and happy content residents. The Social Calendar and Wellness Center is full of activities everyday in which you can participate. I describe Brightwater as a “Luxury Cruise Ship on land.” We like to travel and not owning a home gives us the freedom that we need without the home owning responsibility. Our children live in NJ and Australia and they don’t have to worry about us and we won’t burden them with our care. Our lawyer daughter-in-law in AU thanked us for taking charge of our lives so they don’t have to worry about us. We love the lifestyle that Brightwater affords us to have! Their slogan says it all - Live Long - Live Well - Live!
Found by Happenstance and Ever Glad!
reviewed on: 02/04/2015 by Shirley and Bill SproutWe found Brightwater by happenstance and are we ever glad! We were exploring potential homes for longtime friends and our friends and our first impression was over the top. Brightwater is filled with beauty everywhere and the home-like feel grabbed us immediately. We found the staff to be especially welcoming and the residents very friendly. The many programs for wellness, entertainment, and socializing help keep us active and involved. Before moving to Brightwater, we looked at many options in several states, but none offered everything on our wish list. We decided to move while physically able because it was important for it to be our decision and not a burden on our children. After our first year here, we can honestly say it has exceeded our expectations in almost every measure. Besides all that, winter in South Carolina is a delight compared to Ohio. We have found a home!
Thankful for Brightwater
reviewed on: 11/26/2020 by BetteMy husband and I moved in 2 1/2yrs ago and we were able to continue our regular routines without the worries of maintenance & housekeeping. Genesis at Brightwater made it convenient for therapy and improved my quality of life. The support I received from my neighbors when my husband passed, was more than I would have imagined. Since I live alone now it is comforting to not be alone and to have staff that have such a fantastic attitude to help & serve. Transportation is available with door to door service, so I don’t have to worry about finding a parking spot or being alone. The Brightwater Chapel is a wonderful experience and so convenient. Everyone here is so friendly and cares about each other.
