Found by Happenstance and Ever Glad!
reviewed on: 02/04/2015 by Shirley and Bill SproutWe found Brightwater by happenstance and are we ever glad! We were exploring potential homes for longtime friends and our friends and our first impression was over the top. Brightwater is filled with beauty everywhere and the home-like feel grabbed us immediately. We found the staff to be especially welcoming and the residents very friendly. The many programs for wellness, entertainment, and socializing help keep us active and involved. Before moving to Brightwater, we looked at many options in several states, but none offered everything on our wish list. We decided to move while physically able because it was important for it to be our decision and not a burden on our children. After our first year here, we can honestly say it has exceeded our expectations in almost every measure. Besides all that, winter in South Carolina is a delight compared to Ohio. We have found a home!
Happy Living
reviewed on: 06/11/2020 by Arlene AugustI have lived at Brightwater for 5 years and everyone is so friendly. The smiling staff takes very good care of us especially during the Covid19 restrictions and we are safe. The dining staff delivered food to my door timely and the choices were mine to make. My daughter came for a tent talk visit and it was a lovely time. I miss the entertainment & lectures and am looking forward to them coming back.
Great place for a senior to live and enjoy life
reviewed on: 04/23/2020 by John SterinbachMy Aunt’s experiences at Brightwater are always pleasurable. The facilities at Brightwater are meticulously maintained and the staff is always nice, friendly, and willing to provide any assistance that may be needed. Before moving to Brightwater my aunt had been living all along in her home of 30 years in Little River, South Carolina. She had been reluctant to sell the house that her and her late husband had called home. After moving into Brightwater, it was as if a new wave of emergency and happiness had come upon her. She started making new friends and attending the regular social events planned by Brightwater. Additionally, she was able to enjoy her meals in the company of other lady friends she had made at Brightwater; instead of eating all along in her home. Brightwater provides shuttle service to her doctor’s appointments, and any prescriptions that are needed are either picked up by the Brightwater staff, or delivered to the front desk. When my Aunt and I reminisce about the past and her decision to move to Brightwater, we both always say the same thing; it was the best decision she had made.
Happiness from Flowers
reviewed on: 07/24/2020 by Harriet's FlowersI have enjoyed the lifestyle services at Brightwater for 6 years and everyone has been so friendly from day one. The most wonderful staff work here, and they are always happy to do their best to take care of us. I have my own garden plot to grow flowers so I can share happiness with others. Dining did a great job delivering our meals during the COVID restrictions.
Brightwater Expereince
reviewed on: 03/31/2020 by Mamasha5 years ago when I was 70 yrs old, I was only concerned about financial planning for the future not where I wanted to live. I knew I didn’t want to go to a nursing home. I lived in a single family house in a retirement community and because of health issues, my family suggested Brightwater a continuum care community and I would be able to live independently. I was very surprised to find resort style life, I don’t have to cook or plan activities or run out to the gym, transportation is available, maintenance is taken care of and all of these are included. The day I came to tour with my daughter, everyone was smiling and welcoming and asking are you going to move here? I felt so warm & welcomed that I didn’t have to think about this. I feel healthier today than the day I moved in because I am able to keep my mind & body busy. I feel every effort is made to secure my safety. I have always enjoyed crafts and now I have classes to encourage me to try new medias. The dining experience feels like I am at the resort, specials every day or a full menu to select from. The presentation is beautiful and a smiling staff to serve us. We have the 101 club to enjoy a cocktail & snacks before dinner with my friends. We are all part of the Brightwater family.
