Retirement as it should be
reviewed on: 11/04/2020 by BPWe moved here while in our early 70's and built our cottage 3 years ago. we have found it to be a great place to live. There are enough social activities to keep you busy as well as being involved in the residents' advisory board if you opt to do so. Our neighbors are a great group of people and it is exceptionally easy to meet new people and develop new friendships. Management and staff do an excellent job of providing safety and a wide range of services. It's just really nice not having to take care of home and lawn maintenance and only having to worry about what you will choose from the menu for your next meal. Moving to Summit hills is retirement as it should be. we couldn't be happier.
Great Place to live
reviewed on: 10/29/2020 by AnonymousI moved into Summit Hills a few weeks ago and very happy and impressed with this community. The care team are great. They care about me and the other residents. The food is good and I have enjoyed each meal. The community is beautiful and the housekeeper does a great job keeping my room clean. The therapy is great and I really enjoy each of them. The care, make it fun and very professional. I recommend Summit Hills for anyone who is looking for an assisted living/skilled community.
Forever home
reviewed on: 10/15/2020 by LauraMy mother and father moved into Summit Hills into an independent apartment June of 2018. We had visited other senior communities and found Summit Hills to offer the best housing, social, and value for our money. My father was starting to show heavy signs of Alzheimer’s and the fact that is was a gated community made my mother and I feel more secure if he wondered outside alone. The community has beautiful interior design, constant activities and delicious dining fare. My family came to eat in the dining room many times. In February of 2020 we moved my father into the Memory Care unit there. It was hard to turn over a parent to people I did not know but he was too much for my mother to handle at 82 years old. I visited my dad many times a week and had wonderful walks around the campus. I got to know the caregivers and they my dad. After only six weeks of him being there, Corona-19 virus locked the care services building down to stop the spread. I was unable to see him until August 3rd when we could start window visits. The caregivers who brought him to see me shared wonderful moments they had with him that mad me smile. During this horrible time of lockdown, the caregivers gave more of themselves than ever, filling in as true family when we could not be together to hug or walk together. Seven weeks ago, my mother had a stroke and was taken to the hospital, unable to use her right side. We were able to have her some back to Summit Hills and use their Rehab services and stay in the Skilled Nursing area. It was so much easier for me to be able to check on their apartment, get mail, and visit with both parents at the same location. My father succumbed to his disease two weeks ago. Everyone I passed as I walked through the halls with my mother had a kind word about my dad. The staff has been so accommodating and thoughtful on our families’ needs during this time or mourning. I highly recommend Summit Hills to anyone looking into a retirement community that will serve them in all capacities no matter what stage they are at in life.
Summit Hills
reviewed on: 09/07/2020 by Mike BurrissMy grandma went in right before quarantine started. That was a hard time for her and us. However, the staff have treated her with the utmost respect and care. Laura has been great with her helping with window visits and all the little things which are in fact the big things. All her nurses though like Andrew have been amazing and treated her like family. Definitely recommend this place for anyone trying to decide.
