This was one of my top two choices when I was looking
reviewed on: 03/11/2015 by Loved OneThis was one of my top two choices when I was looking for options. It was very nice, and when it came down to the final decision, it was about my loved one's personality, and which of the two fit her style better. The other place felt a little more homey to her.
Nice looking place, but very small rooms
reviewed on: 01/14/2014 by Loved oneWe toured this location when we were looking for options for our loved one. It was a nice looking place, they kept it clean and the staff were friendly. They did not have any availability for single rooms during the time of our search, and also the rooms themselves were very small.

reviewed on: 12/23/2012 by A Place For Mom CustomerThis is an older place located away from the hustle and bustle of 1960. The director was extremely helpful and gave me a full tour of the location. I spoke with and talked to a couple of the residents. The overall appearance is clean and well kept; however, each of the residents have the ability to decorate and organize their rooms themselves. The eating area seemed organized and clean. The residents were just returning from an excursion to Wal-mart and seemed quite excited. The Activities Director, was well-spoken and friendly. Overall, there wasn't any pungent odors, the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming and peaceful, and the residents seemed happy.
Superb Admistrative Staff!
reviewed on: 04/28/2017 by Sandra GreenIt was and still is a major adjustment but we are getting through it. The administrative staff are extremely attentive and helpful, especially Barbara Burton (Executive Director) and Anthony Wright (Sales Manager), they are superb at following through with all requests and have made this transition so much easier. We are still working through some issues with medication distribution but other than that the medical staff and associates are ok. What's particularly nice and convenient is the home health and ancillary services who came to do initial evaluations and recommend personal services that will improve my Mom's health, activities and experience while at Brookdale Champion Oaks. The atmosphere is peaceful and the courtyard is very pretty. Most importantly my said in her own words, "I've been happier since living here!"
Overall a great place!
reviewed on: 08/31/2021 by LyndaI love the majority of the staff members, one in particular loves my mom and takes really good care of her. There are times I have been there and I've swept the room. I've had to have them spray for bugs as I do find bugs on occasion. I do try to be understanding as I know that it is hard to find good help to work in a facility such as this, but most of the staff members seem to enjoy their job and to take pride in it. My mom seems to like it there and has made friends and wants to introduce me to all of them but I am not allowed to roam the halls at this time because of the pandemic. I totally understand that and honestly I don't want to roam the halls. I think it is great all the activities that the Community Activities Director plans and does with the residents. I just wish my mom would participate more than she does.
