Community Reviews

Best place ever

reviewed on: 05/18/2020 by Jody Berger

My mother was only there for about 6 months, but the staff even during that short time was unbelievable. The meals were second to none. There was a flu that went around and the staf fmade sure they immediately took action to protect the residents. During Covid-19, the community was very quick to act and ensure the safety of all the residents. We had a wonderful experience here. The value of the community was definitely worth it. The in-house care giving staff was amazing. They were all very caring and quick to react when needed. At the end of February my mother briefly had to go to hospital and then rehab. The RN that they brought in, however, wasn't able to detect an affliction that my mother had. They provided a ton of activities for the residents. My mother didn't often participate in the actives, but when she did, she loved it! I don't think I've ever seen such a quantity of activities provided at a community like this, but also the variety was outstanding.

Quiet and restful

The Courtyard at Jamestown really feels like a home away from home and not just some hotel. The building is old (but very well maintained) and sits back in a quiet area away from the roads and is surrounded by trees with a beautiful view – I couldn’t have chosen a better place for myself and my retirement. The staff here is very attentive as well. They keep up with their responsibilities like medications and cleaning, and are very conscientious about how they’re represented which is so nice. The food is really great; their portions are just the right size and very nutritious. The facility has tons of activities that keep us entertained throughout the day and we have a lot of excursions off the premises so there’s always something going on. I looked for a while for the right place to go but this community really feels like home. I would definitely recommend them.

Quality Care and Affordable

The community is fabulous, very clean and well maintained. The staff and caregivers are very caring and helpful. The food they provide looks nutritious. They encourage my mom to participate in the activities provided. The community offers various outings such as field trips and they offer transportation into town. I feel she is in a safe and secure environment. They provide quality care and is more affordable. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Her Decision

reviewed on: 07/14/2017 by Anonymous

Mom and I have toured a couple of properties and she had chosen this one I had left the choice up to her since she was the one that was going to have to move somewhere. She had liked the food and the staff seems friendly, kind and very helpful. My only concern is that she is still recovering from a broken hip so she can't join any of the activities as of yet but the staff doesn't seem to encourage her to do any exercise to help her recovery along. One of the main requirements for my room is the temperature it can't be too cold or too hot and this place the temperature is just right so that is what sold her.

Our Tour Experience

reviewed on: 05/11/2021 by Jen

This would have been our second choice. My loved one absolutely fell in love with this place. The amount and types of activities really appealed to her. She is LDS, and they had a whole center based around that. The food was excellent. The friendliness of the staff was really awesome. The part I didn’t care for was the sales process. At first we had a really great experience. I talked to the marketing director at least twice before we came on our tour, and she and I had very long conversations about my loved one's preferences and things for her to see and experience on the tour, as well as what some of her fears were around moving. In hind sight, I feel like the marketing director listened and then was like - this is how I can sell you on this. Then when we got there, the pricing and availability changed drastically from what she had told me on the phone. We had gotten my loved one so excited to live there, and then there was absolutely no way we could afford it. My loved one gave me the most crestfallen look. Clearly this woman didn’t listen during our conversation, which created an awkward situation. We still loved the environment. It didn’t feel like an old person’s home in the traditional sense. They really encouraged interactions between the residents. We actually saw residents out and about interacting, and my loved one was able to talk with them and get a feel for the community, which is what she was looking for. It was just a matter of pricing.
