Good place
reviewed on: 06/28/2016 by AnonymousStaff was so kind. She could have used more daily cues and help with housekeeping (memory care).
Couldn't be happier
reviewed on: 09/11/2020 by ChrisWe chose Brookdale Harrisonburg because of the value for your money and my wife and I really enjoyed the tour. The location is great as well for our whole family. They try everyday to keep the residents engaged as much as possible while keeping them safe with COVID. They have done a great job of keeping COVID out of the building. They have been so far ahead of the curve with this virus, I cannot speak highly enough about them. My favorite part about the community has been the way that everyone embraced my mom when she came in here. Not only the staff but the residents, they treated her like a new friend and included her in everything. They made her feel at home and comfortable. Every time I talk to her she tells me how much she loves it here.
The right fit for our father
reviewed on: 03/12/2016 by Anni B.Our family selected Brookdale for our father's care because it looked well-maintained, with a caring staff, and they allowed residents to smoke in a designated "shack" outside the building. Our father was reluctant to leave my brother's home, where he had been living prior to a surgery after which my brother and his wife could no longer manage his need for full time care. We have been highly encouraged in that Papa has accepted his new situation, and even speaks animatedly to his children on the phone about the restaurant style meals and the kind care he receives. The staff has been wonderful and helpful. We are very satisfied with our choice.
Community meets the needs of My Loved One
reviewed on: 04/22/2021 by AnonymousMy loved one has had low and high points at the community. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The food score is being based on my loved one's opinions. A good place for care.
They seem to do a very good job.
reviewed on: 05/28/2014 by Family MemberThey seem to do a very good job. The community is clean, and the staff is friendly. Sometimes the food isn't up to her standard. I think it could be done better. When she has made suggestions, they have taken them and improved the food. She is very happy there, she says she feels safe there.
