I'm relieved that my loved one is getting the care that she needs.
reviewed on: 07/02/2021 by SDWe've had an excellent experience here. My loved one was just coming out of residential rehab, so it was hard to get her in any place that wasn't a skilled nursing facility. But Commonwealth was very accommodating with that. Their physical therapy was beyond excellent. Her therapist has her in better shape now than before her injury. She can walk now and transition from sitting to standing on her own, which is great. The staff have all been very kind and helpful. They're well-trained and confident, and they seem to really care about my loved one and treat her well.
So relieved to have found this facility!
reviewed on: 04/10/2015 by Jeanne HansenI could not be happier with the staff and cleanliness of this facility My mother is having difficulty adjusting to her new living arrangements, and all staff members are being extremely understanding and helpful. She is unhappy with the food, but the facility is willing to offer her alternatives.
Much better place than where dad was before
reviewed on: 09/26/2013 by JackieSo far things are going very well. The staff is way up there, the friendliness is a 5+. The care is coming around, I would think they would have picked up on a few things, things they could have suggested or I would have suggested but I can't really say anything negative about it because my father is a special case. My father's blind, he was on the first floor but we moved him to the dementia unit so he could get more attention and care. The problem is my dad's not one to participate a whole lot at all and because he's blind there's not a lot he can do; so he's been severely depressed but the medication's starting to work. He's coming out a lot more and making some friends. In fact, I referred another resident who was over at Atria to King's Grant and I think they moved in the other weekend. I'm very comforted to know that this is where he will be until the end.
Pretty Good Overall
reviewed on: 07/18/2019 by AnonymousWe have been fairly pleased, while trying to be realistic about our expectations. My understanding is that most all of these facilities under staffed. I've been told that there is a certain legal requirement for the number of CNAs that must be on site for the number of residents, and that they meet the minimum; but that amount is not realistic in my opinion. There are seniors in the memory section who need a LOT of help....from sometimes more than one CNA at a time. It wouldn't be possible to cover two residents with emergencies at once should that ever occur, and during meals it is impossible to get anyone to respond outside of the dining room. But adequate coverage is a problem throughout this business and I doubt we could find a place with more coverage than is mandated. (I think it is one CNA per 8 residents, but don't quote me on that. That might sound like a lot, but many of the memory residents are non-functioning.) The CNAs that are there are very warm and loving people and my loved one adores several of them. There are also more activities there than we could possibly participate in, and they try to involve every resident to the best of the resident's ability. The price is reasonable, given the market in this area, and the food is fantastic, much better than we had expected. And the maintenance department is very responsive. But I guess most important is that my loved one has never asked to leave, so that says a lot.
