You're the Best
reviewed on: 07/15/2020 by AnonymousMy mother has been at Golden Sands for three years she is 95 still walking with a walker and very happy where she is. I used to go there four or five times a week to visit her and have meals with her but when the coronavirus quarantine started in February I call her a lot and call the staff everybody there is healthy and my mom still loves it there. Even though she's developed some confusion the staff manages it well and are very caring.I checked out a lot of Assisted Living homes in Oregon and Washington and this was the best. It's one story so patients don't have to go up elevators or stairs and they have a lot Garden to walk in. Even during these trying times of quarantine the staff is always Pleasant and smiling ..the nursing staff is wonderful. Can't wait until the quarantine is over. Thank you for being so caring and taking such good care of a very loved mother.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
reviewed on: 07/15/2020 by C scottI'm surprised at the reviews that I read because the decor inside and out are are beautiful... I visited a lot of assisted living in Oregon and Washington before I decided on this one so many of them had a bad order to him when you walk down the halls and they word dingy and unkept. Golden Sands what's the nicest on the inside and out with a lot of gardens the residents can walk in and especially it's only one story so they don't have to go up and down stairs or elevators as they get older that gets more difficult. The staff has always been friendly and helpful they do a lot for my mom and are always available when I have questions the food is great and during this difficult time of coronavirus quarantine they are managing very well they're really on top of the disinfecting and caring for the patients social distance and masks. I'm a nurse for 25 years so I look at a lot of other things most people might not notice and I am very impressed still after 3 years. I had to write this because I read the other review giving them a one-star and that's absolutely wrong it must have been about another Assisted Living not this one this one has always been clean and fresh and before the the quarantine I was in there four or five days a week visiting my mom. They definitely deserve a 5
Adequate Place - Great Location
reviewed on: 08/11/2021 by KathyIt's a pretty nice place. If you want luxury, it's not luxurious living. But it's not terrible. It's on a peninsula, in a nice setting with woods all behind it. It's the only assisted living facility in Long Beach. The staff seems friendly and helpful. They have someone who comes in and cleans our loved one's room all the time. It's pricey but not as expensive as it could be.
A Good Home For My Friend
reviewed on: 08/24/2016 by AnonymousMy friend is doing good at this community. He gets helpful staff who are attentive to his needs. The community has new beds and he is happy as can be. My friend likes the meals they serve him, he has said they feed him too much. They offer activities for the residents and my friend gets visits from friends. This is a very clean community.
Good job Golden Sands !
reviewed on: 07/17/2020 by LYNNThey are doing an amazing job at Golden Sands during the coronavirus quarantine which is so difficult on the elderly. They are taking all precautions. I'm amazed in everyone is still friendly under these circumstances and the residence seem to be doing well...1 they seem to have adjusted to the restrictions of Coronavirus and the staff are attentive even though it's hard to work with face masks on and keeping them on the residence. I have a hard time continually wearing the mask and I'm on the outside and just getting groceries with my mask on and gloves it's not enjoyable but we all have to work towards keeping our elderly safe and healthy
