Wonderful and Loving Staff
reviewed on: 07/17/2018 by AnonymousWe moved my Grandmother to Homestead from another living facility about 2 years ago. Our experience with Homestead of Lenexa was fantastic, the entire staff was so loving and caring, everyone from the chef (Deborah) to the aids, nurses, and administrators were fantastic to my Grandmother. Homestead's facilities are not as new as the facility she was at prior but each and every day her experience and time spent at Homestead was far superior. My Grandmother was not the easiest resident for them but their staff was always excellent and patient with her and the love they showed her was beautiful. The administrators and nurse have repeatedly gone out of their way to help my family during hard times. I would recommend Homestead 100%!
Not Cheery or Bright
reviewed on: 09/10/2013 by GregWe didn't like the decor. We though it was, in general, not as cheery, bright, or open. The rooms were not as cheery. It seemed overall not to be quite as cleanly. Part of that was just because it wasn't as well lit. There was an overall feeling of it being darker.

reviewed on: 12/19/2012 by A Place For Mom CustomerPlace is perfect in location. Smaller facility which means more on hands care. Patients do seem elderly and facility is a little older than the others. Run by excellent owner, who is very knowledgeable in what Mom would need and how to care for her. I would not have to be concerned about her care. If Homstead can take Mom, it would be a permn home, she would not need to be taken to a nursing facility due to her health. They would also accept her once the monies are gone and medicaid would step in. Dining area is really only for the patients. Hair salon on site which is good and nice outdoor places for use. Not a whole lot in regards to activity rooms but the one bedroom has more room than the others seen except for the suite one bedroom at sunrise. This facility is lower in cost and more in line to what mother could afford and not be worried to about being turned out.

Great place - personalized care- highly recommend
reviewed on: 11/01/2019 by Mom'sRNDaughterThe place you pick should fit your needs. For my mom, this was exactly what she needed. It was time to move her from her independent living apartment where she was not able to be monitored for progressing memory issues. This smaller place (less than 40 residents, all on one level), with a variety of apartment options, was made for her. I cannot say enough good things about this place. She loves the sunny apartment that all her furniture fit into, which made her transition easier. Having a smaller population allows the staff to make frequent visits during the day and evening to check on them, encourage them to get out and socialize, take them on outings (she had a picnic at SM Park last month) and keep us informed of issues and changes noticed. Menus ARE posted as are activities and menus are printed out for residents and family. The nurses are great ...as are the aids, kitchen staff and front office. They have become family to us and her. There are family events to get everyone to know each other. Though you may shy away from the decor that is less modern than other places, it's clean and homey for the residents. If what is most important is your trust of the staff to give loving care for your parent, this is the place to be.
