Community Reviews
Living through COVID in assisted living
reviewed on: 08/27/2020 by AnonymousBefore COVID, the community was great, they have been awesome about things such as regulations and cleanliness, etc. I am more concerned about the mental health that I've watched my mother and other residents that are here struggling with due to the lock-down and lack of socialization. They tend to leave my mother for long periods of times because she is in a wheelchair. The meals are in Styrofoam containers. The residents seem to be very lonely. I love the facility as far as the space, but at the other facilities I toured recently they are getting to socialize. I think they need to be a little more creative and open more things up at Bentley Commons.
I hope she can stay there until the end of life.
reviewed on: 01/03/2014 by FamilySo far, so good. I don't think a lot of people participate, but she's there doing the activities. If you want to engage there is plenty to do. I tried the food and it was good. I think I should be kept more informed of everything going on as far as the medical and financial aspect is concerned. I don't understand a lot of the medical services, like the primary care doctor that is there, they don't really have an office, if someone gets sick they will call them and meet you here or there, the medical and prescription is through one place and it wouldn't be my first choice. When there is a new service that they are providing sending notice home rather than just with the resident would be nice. I liked it because it was clean, and friendly, and I liked the idea that the staff knew all the residents, they were friendly towards them, and there are others that have Alzheimers and they can live independently, sort of. Everybody understands the disease, so she has friends that she hangs around with that are in the same boat. She doesn't get made fun of by the other residents here there is no judgement. I hope she can stay there until the end of life.
My experience with Bentley Commons
reviewed on: 07/07/2021 by Norman JI chose Bentley Commons mostly due to the location. My apartment size is good for what I need, but they do have options of different sizes as well. I have found that the food is very hit or miss. I do think the facility itself needs some updating but I would recommend them to others who are looking.
I would definitely recommend it, friendly and safe environment
reviewed on: 09/17/2021 by anonymousSo far the Bentley Commons community has been nothing but clean and the staff members are really friendly. Since we are not the ones eating there we do not want to take the meals and dining service, but they do have some activities. Today they are actually taking the residents apple picking, and we do know covid has impacted their ability to do a lot of things but we still wish they could have a few more activities.
Happy with our experience
reviewed on: 11/05/2020 by Family of James SimonThe price was more affordable at Bentley Commons than some others that we looked into and they also had availability at the time. Also, we were happy with the correspondence we had with the staff member. We only visited here twice as I am out of state and then COVID hit, but the staff here were always very helpful and accommodating. They were always pro-active in trying to get my dad to be motivated to participate in some activities. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking. I would want other to know that you have to be ambulatory in order to participate in the fire drills that the facility does.
